Home charger (Porsche) over heating when charging my Taycan

You have 3 options Lower the amperage of PMCC. This is the easiest thing to try if you don't mind a lower charging speed. Buy another charger. Move to a colder climate or cool down your garage.

    Motor vibration in stand still

I haven't noticed that but I have noticed some vibration from the A/c compressor fan from the front park of the vehicle. Are you sure it is the motor and not the A/c? You can test by turning off climate.

NHTSA investigating Taycan power loss issue

After 3 days living with the DME and PE software patch I noticed the following: - that little extra throttle response feeling after WMA5 is gone. The car feels a little sluggish like before WMA5. - while driving around 70mph I switched from Sport to Range mode and the accelerator pedal was not...

    Taycan 4S vs BMW i4 m50

I am glad to see more EV alternatives. There are a few things I personally like in the i4: - physical buttons for climate control - standard ( not retractable) door handles - 7 inches shorter than the taycan. This together with slightly smaller battery should make the car lighter. - trunk door...

    MY2022 Turbos

The hybrid Panamera is nice and it has some of the EV advantages without range anxiety. You can even equip it with a sport exhaust for when you want the feel of a sporty ICE. Also fewer software bugs and better interior build quality without rattles.

I lost all power in the outside lane

If you mean NHTSA reports then it is 22 for MY2020 and 8 for MY2021. A couple other members said they reported in last 1-2 days and these reports should show up in 2 business days.

What are the Must Have Options

Have you ever seen a 400v charger that can support more than 50kw charging? That is the only kind of chargers that this option will be used. If yes what brand/company was it? Just to clarify, the EA chargers are 800v and this option is not needed for fast charging. Also other chargers like the...

How I fixed the door rattles

So true. I had the car in service twice for the rattles. Once they could not reproduce... and the other time they did but their foam fix did not fix anything. So I guess my experience is worst than both of you.

NHTSA investigating Taycan power loss issue

Software errors happen all the time in all devices. I bet if you check your phone's logs you will find many exceptions. What matters is how the software handles these errors. As an experienced sw engineer who has worked in several big sw companies, I am afraid that the Taycan's software is very...

Charging Quits Before Reaching Profile Target

His problem is not the profiles it is charging errors hence the red light. The one parameter that is changing is the exterior temperature getting warmer which might be why you see more and more failures. There is TSB about overhearheating of the charging socket. It might be related. Here is...

Where is the cabin air filter?

The lease agreement usually states that the services have to be up to date when you return the car otherwise they can charge you for the missed service. I am not sure if they enforce it in practice especially if you end up leasing another Porsche from same dealer but contractually they can.

What are the Must Have Options

    - performance battery plus - Air Suspension (for base model) - Surround view (even if the image is distorted the car is big with small windows and the cameras help) - 14 or 18-way seats - LCA - 25ft cable unless you buy 3rd party charger

Where is the cabin air filter?

Have you looked under the glovebox on passenger side? That's where all my German cars including Porsches had it. You usually have to unscrew and remove a small cover to gain access. In rare cases you have to remove the glovebox compartment. Another related question. For cars with the Ionizer...

NHTSA investigating Taycan power loss issue

Minor correction. - 29 are for loss of automotive power and - 1 is for the safety systems like WBA and ParkAssist failing intermittently. That's also a reportable complaint since it involves safety systems that are expected to work.

Taycan software update - reported problems post update

I have a 2020 4s (September 2020 build) which had WMA5 applied in early April. My PCM had frozen and rebooted a couple of times since then. Also the Nav Maps sometimes took a long time to load. I had the dealer take a look and they re-coded the PCM (the service advisor did not explain what that...

Trying to debug my Electrify America experience

I am not sure if there is anything to debug. This sounds like typical EA behavior. One or two "pumps" are usually not working at each location and the Charging NA app is not aware of it. The problem is that recently I had to wait other Taycans, Ford e-Mach and even an ID4 to use the working...

How I fixed the door rattles

Why can't you drive your car till the new panels arrive? Unfortunately for me it is not just the door panels. It is both B-pillars, the instrument cluster housing, some speaker cover grills, the center console cover behind the windshield camera, driver seat, etc. When the cars sits under the...
