Powered Charge Port Cover - YES or No?

Currently do not have as mine was off the showroom floor. The three negatives of the standard port are that they stick out when open, can be 'sticky' to open and close and you lose the visual contrast from of the line or small 'wing' that supports the sensor. I would have preferred the electric...

Setup screen appears each time car is started

This has happened a few times to me as well - not every time, maybe once a week. It is a pain and would be interested if anyone has a fix.

First Porsche - Finance and spec help!

My car is quite similar to your spec. Personally I would not add the yellow brakes and passenger display. Maybe the logos on all 4 headrests and armrest too much? I thought I wanted the Porsche clock but in Australia this is really expensive (2250 pounds) and I think you would be better colour...

Taycan 4S vs Audi e-tron GT review

Interesting review. I had considered waiting for the e-tron GT (due 'late 2021' in Australia) to compare in to the Taycan, but in the end decided not wait as: 1. Taycan looks much cleaner, more special - Audi a bit fussy, especially the front. 2. Previous ownership experience with Audi (A6...

How would you spec differently next time?

Did not realise carbon was a default on the Turbo S. I agree, rear looks great, not so keen on the front.

    Profiles and Timers

Ok, so charge to 80% and wait until down to 50% before connecting. That is helpful, thank you

    Profiles and Timers

OK, so I pay the same rate 24/7 and have ticked optimise charging and set at 80% which I now understand is the maximum it will charge to. I am still am unclear if it is best to run the battery down to say 10, 25 or 50% before charging again (assuming I do not need the range the next day), or...

How would you spec differently next time?

I was shown a turbo in Ice Grey with Mission wheels - really liked the colour and it also had carbon fibre. You might want to consider the carbon fibre interior trim and on the side skirts/rear diffuser - it really offsets the ice grey. It is interesting quite a few of your options (ACC, 3D...

How would you spec differently next time?

I suspect you are correct about the sport chrono, but I do actually like the clock and it is where my eye goes to to check on the time (perhaps just from habit as last car has the same feature). I forgot to mention the electric charging port - my is the manual and so really sticks out when it...

How would you spec differently next time?

Interesting to read what people have found useful and would do differently. Some of the options discussed (ACC, surround) standard in Australia, but then we pay a lot more! My car was purchased off the showroom floor so no choice in terms of options. After two weeks a few options I would...

    Avoiding all Automated Driving Functions

I do not have InnoDrive or traffic jam assist, but ACC will stop and then allow car to move on if stopped for <15 seconds. If stopped for longer need to depress throttle or flick ACC wand upwards.

My 2020 4S MSRP $149k, loaner 2020 4S MSRP $113k. My opinion on what options are really important after driving a stripper 4S for a few days.

I have not heard standard audio in Taycan as currently only 4S, Turbo and Turbo S in Australia all of which have Bose as standard. Standard audio in loan Macan/Cayenne I would rate as low. Taycan RWD arrives in October/November and will not have Bose as standard for our market. I have to say a...

    Aftermarket softclose doors?

I was not aware of an after-market soft close option. Whilst I would love the soft close doors, would not been keen on fitting a non-Porsche approved part - I am sure this would have warranty implications?

    Avoiding all Automated Driving Functions

Australia really is a nanny 'state' and legislate to the lowest common denominator, I'm afraid. Charging absence was to discourage use of mobile phones whilst driving and door close to reduce risk of hand/finger injuries, according to my dealer. Really no logic and my old Panamera had soft...

    Avoiding all Automated Driving Functions

Only had my car 2 weeks and in Australia, InnoDrive not available (government legislation - so no soft close doors or wireless phone charging either even if you wanted them). I agree with US colleagues comments: all can be turned off and/or have varying levels of engagement. I have to say...

No, was not me, but happy to take the compliment! I have not seen another Crayon yet - quite a few white, three Volcano grey, and one each Ice Blue, Ice grey, silver and Gentian Blue.

Rear light strip with 'PORSCHE' logo in black??

I have seen both standard and black, but not the glacier blue. With the black lettering the bar behind is clearer. I thought the black lettering still difficult to read and but what I did not like was the clearer bar behind. I like the concept of the stealth look, especially with darker colours...

I have not seen or driven a car with partial leather but dealer advised it was a slightly lower quality than the full leather and not as smooth. I have full leather and it certainly seems softer and smoother than the partial leather on my old Panamera.

I would definitely consider ACC. In response to the post from our US colleagues, just fount that I do have a heated steering wheel, so I guess the GT wheel must be the standard one for Australia! Button is really well hidden..

You never know what Porsche might offer. CT arrives October/November here. They are only importing 4S and Turbo versions but 4S version better 'value' than sedan as includes PB+ and better wheels for pretty much same price as a 4S sedan with less attractive wheels and no PB+. Was interested but...
