I'll add my MY21 Configuration data to this as a reference. I have to say that dependability is much, much better compared to when I purchased my 4S in late July. No reboots, internet radio doesn't take forever to start the station, Carplay is very responsive.
I am going to start taking a...
No. But thanks. IN the article I saww there was a higher level 3D opaque taycan showing the components and wire paths and locations. But this is a really nice piece of the puzzle, even though it isn't Porsche.
The Taycan's PCM hardware may be modular enough that it can be changed out. I noted on a 2022 Panamera that the rear heater control screen (also allows some media and map display) is 98% the same as the 2021 PCM 5 interface. It follows the PCM 5 style guide with options selected from 3 bars at...
While optimism is not one of my strong suits, this thread has put my head in a bit of a swirl. Porsche’s lack of communications regarding the future of PCM, when viewed especially in the light of all of the comments provided thus far is not encouraging. Two chains of conversation have emerged...
Thanks. This is very useful, I had always questioned whether the Taycan "heat pump" was a classic heat pump (valve that reverses evaporator and condenser function). With no HV Heater (i had a bad one) I would have expected the heat pump to be able to warm the cabin after 20 min, but that...
Interesting. For My MY21 PCM, I have no " Settings_NotificationCentre_Allow"" settings or screens like your 3rd or 4th Screen shown above. Carplay works very nicely and easily reads the messages to me. So other than the minor aggravation of having a menu choice in PCM that doesn't do what...
Another possible view of future PCM 6. The Porsche video on PCM 6 has a short sequence that shows an interesint icon "Cockpit" not currently seen in the Taycan.
Two possiblities, 1) it is an already scrapped idea that will never come to pass or 2) Maybe some configurability of displays. I...
Engage cruise control while stopped and the "Hold" indication comes on also. Not bad for going thru school zones and other 25mph areas because as soon as you start moving, if you accelerate past 20mph, regen will slow you down as soon as you let off the accelerator.
My ramblings (rationalization?) on this subject
I have come to the same conclusion as "thecoloradokid". I have gotten over the same disappointments in software and instrument displays and enjoy the quality of ride and performance of this car. The software seems to be more dependable than 5...
Next time out, i am disabling ALK and LKA to see what happens. WIth them "checked" but all assistance turned off, I still got the Driver Assistance Warning
I called 1-800-PORSCHE tody. I specifically, The only seemingly logical choice to talk to is Customer Service. They answer your question by saying "go ask your dealer". I then asked if they have a technical section they can connect me to. "No, we do not" was the response. I love my...
I have seen momentary red "Driver Assistance Required" several times. Driver Assistance disabled, both hands on wheel, straight two lane road, with no other cars near me.
Seems like and Lane Keep Assist issue.
It would be nice if Porsche had a picture and explanation of all driver...
I have seen this warning twice in the last month, with driver assistance disabled from the left stalk/wand (no ACC, LKA, or ALK showing on the dash). Very quick flash of red warning "Driver assistance required" and car slows down momentarily (warning is up for less than a second, hard to see if...
Bit sure if you are looking for general comments on road noise or specfic to your Goodyears, but I have MY21 4S with Pirelli Elects on Mission E's. Very quiet.
Summer Tires....
Good practical thread. I have a AC/12V tire pump I carry in each car that doesn't have a spare. I'm too lazy to unpck and repack the Porsche pump. It is good to have anyway to keep up with temperature-caused tire pressure changes. I figure unless the tire has a catastrophic failure, having...
