I have ACC and I have to say it's one of the better systems I have used. I used to constantly get phantom braking on the Tesla in adaptive cruise which is not fun on the motorway. I can tell you. No such problems with a regular LIDAR system like ACC. I know I would miss it if I didn't have it.
I haven't missed it on the 4S and I've found Power Steering Plus more than adequate for low speed but I just think RWS is an essential option for the more driver-focused GTS, especially for residual value. I'm never going to keep an electric forever!
I have the standard black interior on my 4S but added the Bordeaux Red Seat Belts and I think it looks really good especially with the Ambient Lighting set to red. The belts are much darker than the configurator though.
A friend of a friend used to have a 911 Targa GTS in Volcano Grey with...
Optioning a Porsche is a challenge and, of course, very subjective but I have listed what I think are essential options on a Taycan GTS. What would you add/take away?
Must have on GTS:
21" RS Spider Wheels - Can you have anything less on a GTS?
Rear-Axle Steering including Power Steering Plus...
I've had my 4SCT just over a week and love it but Porsche have now gone and thrown a real spanner in the works by offering me a February 23 build slot for a GTS Sport Turismo. Anybody got an opinion on whether to stick or twist?
My dealer was saying it’s a year plus wait for a 4S CT Taycan still and second hand values are still holding up. I don’t know though, £115-£120k is probably not far off based on what’s available at the moment.
That’s a bummer. It gets to the point when you feel like it’s never going to happen doesn’t it? The sales guy who I dealt with said he one client waiting for a 911 for two years and still hasn’t got a build slot and another Taycan order that’s 410 days and counting partly owing to the 12v...
I’ve never trusted the Tesla range to the extent I just stick on on % rather than miles available. Based on my limited experience with the Taycan, I have already noticed it seems to under promise and over deliver on range and that’s got to be a good thing.
My kids love the careoke in the Tesla...
Not sure on the precise date but was advised on 12th October it was due to be built that week and informed it was delivered to the Porsche Centre, Norwich on 7th November.
Wow! It is a fantastic car. Even my wife, who was not especially keen, conceded it’s beautiful.
Some initial thoughts:
Don’t get me wrong, this is a seriously fast car but I’m used to relatively fast cars so the speed hasn’t blown me away. However, the way in which the car glides to and...
Has anyone had any experience of plugging an adapter into the OBD port to use with a dashcam and, if so, did it cause any problems?
Also, has anyone had a go at installing a wireless phone charging pad in that little storage area under the centre console beneath the HVAC touchscreen? It seems...
My wife is not enthusiastic. She loves our Tesla Model 3 and wants a Model Y to replace it but the Porsche is coming and there no stopping it now. The Model Y just reminds me of a mini MPV and of course it’s not in the same league as a Taycan. The two aren’t comparable really.
All things being...
Spec of a Porsche is so subjective especially with so many (often costly) options isn’t it? I was going to go with an all black spec originally but one of the test cars I drove at the Porsche Centre was white with black inserts and I just thought it really popped and I like a dash of red on...
