You are correct, I'm not familiar with EV gearbox design. I'm only looking at the taycan specific tranny and it's basic principles do not look far off from traditional ice tranny.

If you've a melted plug, it's built up heat and that means somewhere inbetween and including the receptacle and the plug to the evse, there is too much resistance. The receptacle could have bad contacts, i.e. perhaps there is a lot of plugging and unplugging which is resulting in a weak contact...

I'm for the extension. Is 2" enough to have the end of the tube to be about flush with the 1up tray? The only mod I'd do is to add a tail light either to the end of each bar or onto the 1up tray

SFL Conductor must have some weather that it is battling considering the speed of 10 knots.

I see that update from this morning. That's a relief.
