Taycan 4S gets 323 mile real world range in Edmunds EV range test!

EPA 49Kw/100mi is not realistic. I have to drive hard in Sport+ in cold weather to show that number. It is not average highway/city driving.

Enough Complaining, Let's talk about what we love about the Taycan and why we bought it.

Driving the Taycan is sublime - smooth instantaneous power and tight cornering on curvy roads. Best driving car I have owned. Great styling. Looking aside the first model glitches.

Taycan 4S gets 323 mile real world range in Edmunds EV range test!

This test is fairly close to what I can squeeze out of my Turbo in summer conditions, flat freeway driving, range mode and cruise control. I have never run mine down to 0% so this video was educational about what happens at that point.

Have any owners in Canada received this upgrade? https://newsroom.porsche.com/en/2021/products/porsche-free-software-update-for-first-taycan-models-23911.html

    Charging in Squamish BC

I think the three years started when you bought the car. You need to sign up on the website, but the Porsche dealer should have set that up for you. You should check your “services” on the website. Good luck.

Also, post the number kWh you experience. I will be interested if you get over 100.

    Charging in Squamish BC

Yes you can use the Charge NA app. In Connect, select the bottom left icon “Explore” then the green circle that pops up the bar code scanner. However, the one in Squamish doesn’t have bar codes so press the left icon with 9 little squares and type in the station ID. Make sure you have attached...

    Charging in Squamish BC

Sea to Sky drivers. FYI, there are 4 new Electrify Canada charging stations operational at the Garibaldi Shopping Centre north of the town of Squamish, in front of the London Drugs. One 350 and three 150’s. There is a Starbucks one minute walk south. I tried the 350 as an experiment last week -...

    Great Electrify America Experience

Question: Why do you use the Charging NA app rather than the Porsche Connect app which will also initiate an EA session?

    AC Chargers in Alberta

ABRP is the best planning app (Pay for the premium subscription). It is up to date with regard to all charging stations and gives you control over stops (eg if you know where you are going to stay overnight and start the next day at 100% SOC). It also lets you set the consumption for your car...

Hypothesis on Recuperation and Charging Profile

My recuperation always works, even right after an 85% charge. Temperature is not a factor as my Turbo is currently parked outside in weather that has been as low as -15C.

Interesting post. Where did you get the charging history you show in the graph?

Taycan Profile doesn’t work with ChargePoint

Issue solved. You need to create a location-based profile (GPS) with the charging % you wish, and optimized charging. If you select a profile for another location, even if it is the only one ticked, it will not be used. Car will charge to 100%. Not sure I understand the design logic. Use of a...

Taycan Profile doesn’t work with ChargePoint

Thanks. That might be the reason. The 85% profile selected was for a different GPS location, so maybe was overridden by the general one. This Porsche software leaves something to be desired. This should not be complicated!

Taycan Profile doesn’t work with ChargePoint

Wifi connection doesn’t work in North America. The dealer told me that Porsche hasn‘t enabled it because they want to sell the cellular-based data connection. Not sure if this is the same for you in the UK.

Taycan Profile doesn’t work with ChargePoint

Thanks. I will create a location-based profile and try that.

Taycan Profile doesn’t work with ChargePoint

When I charge my Taycan with an 85% Profile using a ChargePoint home charge at my cabin it blows by the 85% and will charge to 100%. Doesn’t appear to handshake with ChargePoint. Using the Porsche Mobile charger at my house using the same profile works fine and stops at 85%. Has anyone else...

    Where's the WiFi Menu?

The ability to connect to a external wifi is NOT enabled in North America. A Porsche decision.

    Mustart Charger Review

I think many Taycan owners will be interested in a good mobile charger for road trips ”just in case”. With a little more enticement I would buy a Mustart after reading about it here on the forum. Would buy 30 and 50 amp RV plugs. I think Mustart would be wise to offer more than a $10 discount. I...
