"Would I Do it Again? 6 Months With a Used Porsche Taycan 4S" (Review)

It wasn’t meant to disparage Mr. Volk. I enjoy his reviews from time to time. it’s more of an observation/lamentation that when EVERYTHING becomes “important/breaking/outrageous”…nothing is. In general, I think AI is overhyped, but I’m starting to look forward to it replacing all the social...

"Would I Do it Again? 6 Months With a Used Porsche Taycan 4S" (Review)

I'm waiting for the day when YouTube creators figure out the way to have their video get noticed is to do something different from everyone else, and NOT put a giant clickbait title in bright yellow letters on the thumbnail. It seems we should be fast approaching that day.

    Taycan spoiled me...

We've gotten a base Macan loaner both times when our Taycan was in for service. Both times I left it parked in the garage the entire week except for a couple short trips. I did time 0-60 at 8 seconds with it. I see the Macan as a vehicle for people who derive status via a badge. It's an...

Porsche NACS DC Adapter Now Available to Order

Nice. I was able to set our Taycan up in the Tesla app. We rarely DCFC, but it will be nice to have 3x the options we had a few days ago...and nice to finally feel like the money spent on the 150 kW charging equipment might be useful. Adapter shows out of stock. No rush.

Audi Concept C EV revealed - thoughts?

I need more information, but I don't hate it. Porsche needs to step up with the Cayman EV. One video I saw claimed a curb weight of 3,718#. That's acceptable, given the retractable hardtop. RWD with 450 horsepower would be adequate.

    Miles(/km) per KwH Figures.

Our 2023 Turbo will run 2.5-ish during the winter, and 3+ during the summer. I've seen as high as 3.5 while pushing for range on a road trip in the summer during interstate highway travel at 75 m.p.h. Keep a close eye on tire pressure, as that's one variable you have control over.

What 718 EV drive train would you be most interest in?

Hmmm....I've been hoping for 450 horsepower, RWD, single motor for the Cayman EV...and </= 3,600# The Taycan Turbo GT shows a 450 hp single motor is possible, though I don't know if that would make it down to the Cayman. So long as range is somewhere between 150-200 miles I'm good with that...
