I don't foresee ever buying another new ICE vehicle. Every part of the EV ownership/driving experience is better than ICE, except for long road trips...which are why airplanes exist. I still want a 2-door EV. Porsche needs to get the Cayman EV to market.

Two things.... 1. How long will the lines be for these chargers, once Costco offers a 1-cent discount per KW/h to members? Look at the queues to buy gasoline there for reference. 2. While I welcome more fast DCFC's, Costco isn't the destination that needs them. For the money spent installing...

All those 350 KW dispensers wouldn't matter in the US, as they'd be clogged up for hours by Chevy Bolts charging at a max rate of 55 KW.

Thanks for sharing more information. I think you're still looking at another 50% depreciation in two years, on a 2023 with a starting price of $123k. In any event you'll do better that we have/will...paying MSRP for a 2023 early last year. One can fix a lot of stuff on a used Taycan for a $60k...

I wonder why rent a 2023 for $46k for two years, when I could buy a 2020 Turbo well optioned with low miles for $70k?

There's likely a "test drive clause" you agreed to when you took the car in for service. I think that's pretty common with vehicle service.

My understanding is the battery pack doesn't span the entire floorboard in this vehicle...it resides mostly behind the seats. That would help limit exposure to unfortunate events you've been subjected to. Crickets on the Boxter/Cayman EV. It seems more and more it's not going to be released...

It does help to compare using premium gasoline prices. You’re not fueling anything with more than 300 horsepower with 87 octane gasoline.

Sounds like a lot of customers would get lucky if this happened at this dealership.

FWIW, my understanding is the Boxter/Cayman EV, whenever it finally is released, will not be using a "skateboard" style battery pack, so undertray damage shouldn't cause these issues.

I have a 2-post lift at home so it would probably be pretty easy to replace the tray myself. If I didn't have a lift and I was in this position, I'd agree to pay a reasonable diagnostic fee of <$500, have the car and under tray loaded on a flatbed, and delivered to my home, where I'd pull it...

IMO any car is the wrong tool for Cincinnati-Philadelphia.

Note to self...take Taycan to independent body shop to have any dents removed from the skidpan before taking to Porsche for service.
