  1. My passenger heater warranty will be extended to 6 years (per Porsche NA notice letter)

Does this extended warranty on the psssenger heater and 22kw charger apply outside the US?
  2. Taycan spoiled me...

I was shocked (in a bad way) when I got my base Macan loaner. Couldn't believe how bad it was. The lag when you put your foot down actually made me laugh out loud, it was awful. I felt it could actually be dangerous for anyone coming from a Taycan. It reminded me of driving hire cars I had in...
  3. Just got a new battery - now they want to charge, drive car to depletion, charge, drive to depletion, and charge again...???

Personally, I wouldn't be in the slightest bit concerned if I had just got a brand new replacement battery in a 2021 car. Like, if i got a full replacement engine in an ICE car, and they said they needed to run it in for 500 miles.
  4. "Why Electric Porsches Will Never Make Sense" - video

I managed to watch the first couple of minutes..... I think Porsche need to hire the guy ASAP as the new CEO as he is obviously a genius and knows everything Porsche need to do and everything they are doing wrong. Tldr: This one man's opinion is Fact and he knows everything.
  5. "Why Electric Porsches Will Never Make Sense" - video

I'm a bit disappointed that the vid doesn't have the shocked face matched with a 😲BIG COLOURFUL SHOCKING!!! title. Otherwise, I could have automatically discarded it as just another clickbait 'Pillock Production'.
  6. BYD Yangwang U9 jumps over spike strip while self-driving in a crazy test

I see it's now also become the fastest production car in the world. https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/byd/367847/worlds-fastest-car-electric-yangwang-u9-xtreme-hits-3084mph Regardless of anyones thoughts on the cars provenance, I personally am pleased and EV has stolen the crown of fastest...
  7. Multiple "Charge error" app notifications but car seems to be charging correctly

I had it happen frequently for years when home charging. The eventual culprit was my EVSE was 'overheating' (it wasn't really, it was just set wrongly to cut out when only warm.......but it was only ever an issue on my Taycan, never on wifes BMW). I would get lots of these most nights. It...
  8. New here, did the dealer launch my car?

I suppose it could have been any number of legitimate things....? Something like accelerating on a rolling road to check for replacement windscreen creaking, or a quick blast on the road to check for seal/wind noise at higher speed etc. Personally, I doubt any Porsche mechanic would get...
  9. Speedometer Accuracy?

+2-3 mph is by design on all cars I read somewhere previously. It has certainly been the case on all my recent cars. So I set cruise to 2 mph over the limit when navigating our (many) SPECS speed camera zones.
  10. "Porsche class action claims Taycan EVs have battery defect" - December 5, 2024

Would that mean in the UK that your only course of action against a disputed Porsche extended warranty claim, would be legal action? ........which generally means those with the deepest pockets / most lawyers win?
  11. On the fence

Found you on here now - I had responded on the other forum. This is the thread you want to read. https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/taycan-problem-potential-catastrophic-tire-failure.16788/ And this is the other thread I mentioned...
  12. Car-Maker BYD Introduces Roof-Mounted Drone System for Select Models

Really useful.......if you get stuck in a traffic jam just near a nudist beach. 😁 Can't think of any other useful application.
  13. starting to get pretty fucked off about software.

When I took my car in for it's 3rd heater, the dealer said they currently had more issues with Taycans than all the other fleet combined. But not enough trained techs, hence the huge waits (up to 3 mths with a loaner) to get it seen to, whereas any other model could be booked in at shorter notice.
  14. "Everyone is writing off the new wave of high-performance Chinese EVs – here's why that's a big mistake" - article

My thinking is that China has enormous resources to throw at these things. They started by copying, then caught up, and now can forge ahead. They have the resources to do it (especially with modern IT/AI). If they want to make an EV to take a track record just to show they can, they will do...
  15. My Porsche dealer is refusing to give me a replacement vehicle

I would imagine the law in individual countries comes into play here? But I would add that a failed heater is s safety issue as the car will fog up if its wet and you will not be able to see.
  16. "Everyone is writing off the new wave of high-performance Chinese EVs – here's why that's a big mistake" - article

I bet some of the tech at that Chinese military parade today, will be raising a few eyebrows in the West as well. My personal view, is that you underestimate China at your peril in most tech areas nowadays. And the pace of improvement is staggering (worrying!).
  17. To wax or not to wax

I like to keep my car washing as fast as possible (as it needs to be done often here with rain/dirt). So when its washed I just spray some of that 'Wax it wet' or simila, before drying with the chamoix leather. Adds about 20 seconds to the process.
  18. How @^#@(##))_$(_@)$(# long does it take to get a new battery in North America?!?!?

I reckon Porsche must be close to bottom of the list of manufacturers when it comes to customer satisfaction for recall/repair work with the Taycan. Usually an excessively long wait. Often very little feedback. Never any apology. They don't seem to have learnt anything from things like the...
  19. How attractive is the Taycan really to car thieves?

No, it was a home burglary, the keys were taken (read the title). It was also over 5 years ago.
  20. Pt.2: Taycan lets you drive with shorted out battery modules [VIDEO]

@ct14garage How many of these repairs have you done and how many Taycans are there in Thailand (approx)? Just wondering what the frequency is and if there are any circumstances which affect Thai fleet differently to elsewhere? Second question, how bad are the HV shocks people have had?
