The Porsche website says 482 but coincidentally I was just reading an Autocar review which said 483 ... but brake hp. So I guess there is a 1 hp diff between the two although I don't really know what that means for an electric motor.
So if you're sitting in that car does it have 483 horsepower instead of 482? How do you hold the steering wheel without fingers? How is there enough headroom for a horn since the moonroof doesn't open?
I'm going to have to ask for a cite on that. AFAIK it uses an infrared sensor and there is a cutout of the metallic film where is the sensor is to allow it to work. How would an acoustic sensor work for snow (and the wipers *do* auto wipe for snow)? Also, the front windshield is laminated...
His point though was that Edmunds’ math doesn’t work out. 323 miles * 32.3 kWh / 100 miles = 104 kWh required, larger than the Taycan’s battery. Maybe they gave gross not net energy usage although given 323 & 32.3 they may have fat fingered something.
On a different car someone said there was an update and it works now, might it also apply to the Taycan?

Fine print from the Taycan brochure. Someone else mentioned it was on their purchase contract. I would trust the legalese over the manual. Given charging rates drop off after 80%, that also makes me believe that’s the magic number.
That being said, I would also bet that the difference between...
But that wouldn't explain why they were turning right? If they wanted to go forward they would've straightened up. I still think they were unfamiliar with how to engage reverse. When I rented a car in Europe I felt so superior to all the Americans who couldn't drive stick... then spent 15...
I'm no Tesla apologist but sounds like they only charged the Tesla to 90% because Tesla says "owners should use a charge of around 90% for daily use" yet they charged the Taycan to 100% (despite Porsche recommending 80% for daily use). So they set up the test for maximum sensationalism...
That’s to make it easier to heel-toe.
My guess is they didn’t get into reverse like they wanted to and when trying to brake to try again they hit the accelerator instead.
I have to say, that Taycan pushed the SUV aside like a BOSS.

Now I'm starting to get worried with this being the third report.
I too saw the article from a while ago about an updated battery but nothing seems to have come of that. Someone on this forum confirmed that the improved numbers were not due to any actual changes and just Porsche doing more testing and being confident on revising the numbers down.
