Are you getting a Cayman GTS/GT4 instead? I just went the other way around — sold my 2021 Cayman GTS 4.0 PDK and bought a 2023 Taycan GTS Sport Turismo instead.
Initially I replaced my other car, an RS6 Avant, but to my surprise I discovered that the Taycan actually replaced the Cayman more...
Glad to hear you seem to have it under control now.
I agree, the 12V management appears to be not very well handled. I've had my car parked for several weeks in a row since November, but suddenly in early February, after having only having had the car parked for around a week since my last...
joej, some external wall chargers use their own timers as well; I have the same Porsche app settings as chun, albeit with slightly different times (25-80% at 22.00-06.00 throughout the week plus the general setting 0-25% at any time/day), but there is also an option to set a timer schedule...
I went (kind of) the other way — from a Cayman GTS 4.0 to a Taycan GTS Sport Turismo. The Cayman GTS was/is a great car, but I don't regret the switch for a second (also, I still have my old tuned RS6 Avant so that I can enjoy a roaring V8 occasionally :–).
When ordering a new car (my latest was a Porsche Cayman GTS 4.0), I always go with the model name delete factory option, and when buying a used car (my latest was a Porsche Taycan GTS), having the model name removed is the first thing I do (the brand badge itself is of course never removed)...
I received a letter from Porsche Sweden last week, dated December 6th, with the following text regarding service action WRS0 (scanned and OCR'ed on iPhone and then google translated from Swedish to English):
I had ARB7 carried out in August and were then told that there were no other...
Change "NE Scotland" to "Stockholm" and I could have written this post :-). No churning at all in the summer, but now in the winter time the front tyres churn real bad with every deep turn of the steering wheel on my 2023 GTS ST... I've never had this on any other car though (neither on my...
This is my take on the tyre question as well -- I currently have the Goodyear Eagle Performance F1 Asymmetric 3 Ultra High Performance (phew! :–) tyre on my 2023 GTS Sport Turismo (came standard), but I will change to Michelin Pilot Sport 4S (or 5S, if/when they are released) when the time...
Yeah, I was quite surprised over how nimble and precise the heavy Taycan actually felt — it's only during higher speeds in the bends and when breaking that I clearly feel the difference against the Cayman (despite plus ~900 kg!), otherwise the handling characteristics feels very similar to me...
Cool that you also went from a Cayman to a Taycan, I don't think that's very common — myself I had a 2021 Cayman GTS 4.0 PDK, and now I have a 2023 Taycan GTS Sport Turismo instead (initially I actually intended for it to replace my 2014 RS6 Avant, but I quickly found that for me it rather...
Yeah, it's quite expensive new — the base price for the 2025 GTS ST in Sweden is appr. USD 157K, but with all the "necessary" factory options it's USD 190K... I think two or three years on that spec. will do wonders for the price (for the second owner, that is :–).
I agree, this sounded a bit weird to me as well. He mentioned that the Porsche specific charging cable should have a ’P’ in a triangle symbol on it, and as long as it has that it will charge the 12V battery as well. Would be nice though to have this confirmed from additional (reliable) sources.
I asked my dealer, and the service guy told me that if I used the Porsche original charging cable, it will charge the 12V battery while charging the high voltage batteries — don't know if this is correct as I haven't heard that anywhere else, but that's what he said... I also asked a sales guy...
My current 2023 GTS ST cost ~$190K new (it came pretty loaded), while I paid ~$125K used (1 prior owner, 1,5 years, 13.7K miles, 96% SoH); a similarly configured new 2025 GTS ST (some options skipped, some options added) will cost ~$213K (https://porsche-code.com/PS7SAKH8), so as usual Porsche...
Perhaps a stupid question, but won't the 12V battery be continuously charged as well when the car is plugged in -- or does the 12V battery have to be charged separately from the car's battery pack?
Congrats on a great deal! I'm in a GTS ST '23 (Jet black with full black leather and most if not all factory options, and a Redshift order pending :–). I had just sold my RS6 Avant '14, and had a Cayman GTS 4.0 '21 as my second car, but when I got the Taycan GTS I realised that for me, it...
Thanks for input. I had no issues with tyre rubbing while steering, even taking sharp turns — it was only when I went over minor speed bumps (asphalt "buns" used for forcing low speeds) *and* I had the chassis in the lowest setting that I could hear/feel rubbing of the tyre in the wheel house...
I'll try when I get the opportunity -- I left the spacers at my tire dealer's garage and more or less forgot about them :–). Right now I'm contemplating whether I should get a new set of 20" winter rims (with new 20" winter tires); if I should just get a set of 21" winter tires and switch on my...
My apologies for the un-intentional hi-jacking with regards to the battery issues discussion — I initially commented on the pricing and made a comparison with my own car, but then got side-tracked…. Your car looks great btw! :-)
