Only the power supplied to the car as recognised by the app is discounted. So other items like washing machines are charged at the full rate. I have been in the habit of using my high load machines on a timer over night but now on changing to Charge Anytime I will revert back to normal hours.
I clarified a few points by phoning OVO's EV helpline on 0330 303 5059 and then filled in the online quote form for Simpler Energy. I was even able to select my start date for change over to coincide with the end of my Octopus Fixed Tariff. I was not an existing customer...
I have just applied for OVO Charge Anytime for when my favourable fixed rate with Octopus Go finishes in April. This appears to be the cheapest EV tariff available at present and from comments on this forum it seems to work well. Octopus wanted to know why I was leaving and I told them that...
So you were an Octopus customer and made a recent switch to OVO in the quest for their Charge Anytime tariff ? Octopus seem to imply that they are waiting for car manufacturers to make their models capable of integrating with their software.
I think that I am disadvantaged because I am an Octopus customer and not an existing customer of OVO. I have emailed Porsche to enquire if they will be making Taycan compatible with the Intelligent Octopus tariff but I am not confident that this will be anytime soon.
I have just spoken to Ovo who passed me from dept. to dept. trying to get info on their Charge Anytime tariff and they told me that it was not available at present. This seems to contradict previous posts. I am not sure that this could be the case but the reason they gave is that energy is short!
It has just occurred to me that in all the comparison searches that I have just made Admiral does not feature in the results. I suppose that is because the sites get a commission on moving you to a new provider. This makes it difficult to get a new virgin quote from Admiral since they can...
Not London but West Midlands. My initial quote was for £1760 & by speaking on the phone & shaving a little off my annual mileage they reduced to £1567. Their comment was that the difference in this year's premium almost certainly related to their perceived risk of the car not the driver.
Just received my renewal quote from Admiral. Everything the same as last year when the quote on my CT4 was £849. This year they want £1567 an 85% increase !
I have printed out your excellent work through of your settings. But before I try your solution can you confirm that charging ceases at the end of the cheaper window even if the target level of charge has not been reached.
In my experience charging begins within the desired window but if 85% cannot be achieved within that then charging continues outside the window until 85% is achieved for the chosen departure time.
I have found it impossible to set my car to charge only between economically favourable times and still restrict the maximum charge level to 85%. Am I missing something? The software appears to want to combine charging times with a time for the car to be ready for use with the chosen level...
