    Useless planner in MyPorsche app

Wow that’s amazing. With four passengers and luggage on a holiday trip in the winter it is impossible for me to get below 27 kWh/100 km when driving normal speeds 125-130 km/h. In summer I get around 23-24 kWh/100 km but I have drive slowly. What speeds do you drive and do you travel alone ...

    Useless planner in MyPorsche app

Remember that the range shown in the display is an estimation based on your typical daily driving. There isn't really a single truth to how much range the car actually has. It varies greatly depending on speed, weather, driving style and driving mode. What actually matters is the efficiency for...

    Range and battery uncertainty

Note that while the total capacity is 93.4 kWh, only 83.7 kWh is actually usable.

Porsche apps - agile software development method - Porsche news

I've heard that they are also using computers, as well as several different letters of the alphabet. Sometimes they even use numbers.

Tesla Cybertruck beats 911 while towing a 911

It's just a dumb marketing stunt. If they hadn't already done the exact same thing with the Model X, I would even say it's pretty funny. The truck is in fact extremely quick, but any reasonable person would understand that this is of course a silly comparison for numerous reasons. The only...

Which Taycan to Choose - 4/4S, Cross Turismo or not

Note that the specifications don't really tell the entire story here. The CT/ST boot volume is measured to the bottom edge of the rear window. Because of the shape of the CT/ST there is therefore quite a lot of volume that is omitted in the specifications, but that can in fact be used in...

My Porsche App Update for Taycan Finally Adds Climate Controls & More through Apple Carplay! Happy Thanksgiving!

So after playing around with the app for a few days, I'm now convinced that Porsche just doesn't understand customer facing software whatsoever. Or they don't care, I don't know. The overall concept looks nice, but the actual tiles you can choose from is just absolute nonsense. They're like 85%...

21 inch tires or 20 inch tires

I think the most noticeable thing when I switch to the 20” winter tyres is that they are significantly quieter than the 21”.

My Porsche App Update for Taycan Finally Adds Climate Controls & More through Apple Carplay! Happy Thanksgiving!

The lack of EV routing might actually be an issue with Apple Maps, though. Is EV routing with Apple Maps available for any other brand in Europe?

My Porsche App Update for Taycan Finally Adds Climate Controls & More through Apple Carplay! Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope they update it soon in Europe too, because this looks great! The Homekit integration is a funny addition, seeing how that isn't even available in standard Carplay for some insane reason. Now this makes me wonder, why on earth does the Porsche Carplay app have a gazillion times better UI...

Profiles DO limit SoC (it seems)

There are a few gotchas with profiles that might cause it to charge to 100%: 1. Except for the general profile, each profile is tied to a location and will override the general profile if the car is parked in that location. 2. If multiple profiles are configured in the same location, the first...

Battery Range: Is 100% full charge of 188 miles the best I can expect?

Can you check what your average speed is?

Battery Range: Is 100% full charge of 188 miles the best I can expect?

I think it’s a bit low if you’re talking about regular boring long distance driving. On average my Turbo S gets a bit under 25kWh/100km when driving steadily on 120kph roads. That’s roughly 2.5 mi/kWh. That said, power consumption is not magic. It depends on a number of different factors like...

US - New Mercedes Charging Network

Interesting that they're only building them in the US as of now. I hope they'll expand it into Europe later, because I'm really looking forward to seeing more of those new premium charging solutions.

Any tips for charging in the snow

You don't have to worry about charging in any type of weather, really. The charge port cover can get quite dirty to touch or even ice shut a bit, which can be annoying, but that's it. There are no dangers using the charger or anything of that nature.

Battery Range: Is 100% full charge of 188 miles the best I can expect?

A few things to think about: 1. The range estimation is based on your typical driving style. If you mostly do short sessions of spirited highway driving, it will display shorter range than if you mostly do long sessions of consistent 50kph driving. 2. The estimation is based on you active...

    WPN9 Campaign?

So obviously dumb me forgot to verify whether it was WPN8 or WPN9 that was installed, but it definitely seems like they've improved the whole bootup sequence quite a bit. Previously it could take quite a while for the PCM to start (even when it didn't get stuck on the spinner of death), but now...

    Pedestrian Protection Mechanism

I believe this type of pedestrian protection system is actually mandatory in the EU, so it makes sense that this would also be included in UK models. I tried to find the exact wording on eur-lex, but they're using such a generic language to describe the different pedestrian protection...

My 3D printed Taycan phone holder

I believe I simply used the included double-sided tape, which attached quite well to the PLA material. It was a while ago since I printed it, but I think I stretched the model slightly in Cura to fit the size of the charger a bit better. Note that the magnets are quite strong so I had some...
