Burmester app for iPhone now supports the Porsche Taycan

I don't think it's really meant for consumers. It appears to essentially just be a sales pitch together with some curated Apple Music playlists to demonstrate the different sound profiles. It doesn't seem to actually integrate with the car in any meaningful way.

    Porsche Connect App

Tesla has all that and actually even works a bit smoother than Porsche in this aspect. Tesla also has the option to automatically lock when you walk away.

First Porsche Charging Lounge opens in Germany

Those are most likely regular AC chargers which are very cheap to install. My wild guess is that they needed some inexpensive destination chargers for maintenance staff or whatever and decided that they might just as well make them available for customers too.

Anyone going back to a Tesla?

As in, a full-specced Model X with all the bells and whistles costs ~€150,000 which is almost €100,000 less than the list price for my Taycan. No, it’s not a Porsche for all what it stands for, but the actual feature set is relatively similar for both cars. Yes, there are obviously cheaper...

Anyone going back to a Tesla?

I’m not sure if it counts, but I’m considering getting a Model X as a complementary car for family trips. It doesn’t replace the Taycan as my everyday car, but with a second child, the Taycan is a bit crowded and the Model X is a great EV. More on topic, as I see it, the Taycan is an amazing...

Stupid question about locking the car!

Hopefully everyone already knows this, but I just wanted to remind people to absolutely not underestimate just how quickly a car gets dangerously hot even in relatively mild summer weather. It literally takes minutes to become unbearable, if not outright lethal for most dogs.

Do you drive around with your PMCC?

I sometimes bring it with me when travelling somewhere far away just to be safe, but otherwise it’s kept on the wall. Honestly, there are so many public chargers nowadays that I have barely even used it.

    using tesla supercharging stations

I think someone already mentioned it, but not that there are a few different variants of Superchargers, whereas some are easier to charge at than others. It seems like especially the newer ones are more commonly placed next to the parking spot rather than behind it like some of the older ones...

Apple Maps via Carplay Now Supports EV Charging for Taycan

I believe Apple Maps will use the last reading from the car when not connected.

Charge Taycan with Tesla home charger?

Note by the way that Tesla's 3-phase mobile charger does not fully follow the Mennekes standard and is NOT compatible with non-Teslas. Connecting it to a Taycan will throw an error and can allegedly even damage the port if unlucky (not actually heard of any case of that actually happening...

    Taycan Timer

First of all, make sure that the timer and profile are activated in the app. A common issue that people create a profile and/or timer, but then forget to activate it. A profile is essentially the charge level that you want to keep the car at. When you plug in your car, it will immediately start...

Facelift 2024 Taycan spied with updated HD matrix headlights

Notice how the bottom of the front is covered in camouflage. It looks like it might actually literally be black tape. Porsche is obviously going to update the design, but it's not going to look like this.

Broken Heater. How Long Do You Wait?

I must have been incredibly lucky, since for me it was actually very quick. I called Porsche in the morning while driving to work and got my car back two days later after having the heater replaced.

    Silencing the Trunk Beeper

Is the sound significantly louder on US cars than in Europe? I cant possibly imagine how one could be bothered by it, let alone losing functionality in order to silence it. Here it does a single beep when you press the close button and nothing when opening.

No Heater (HVAC) - No fast charge!

My heater also failed last week. Suddenly one morning, the vents were just blowing cold air in my face. No error messages or anything like that. I turned in my car later that day for heater replacement and got it back about two days later, so at least it was relatively painless all in all.

    New Porsche Configurator Launched

To balance the discussion with some positivity, I do however like the overall layout of the new configurator. I think it’s much clearer than the old one with a gazillion collapsable lists. The performance must also be system/browser specific, since it appears to be running smooth for me at...

    Innodrive worth it?

I would suggest going into settings and changing so that it requires confirmation before changing speed. It will notify you when you’re nearing a new speed sign, but you need tap the cruise control stalk for it to actually do anything. With that I think it works very well.

3D Surround View vs Surround View

The difference is whether you have an option to see the car as a 3D model which you can rotate to see in different angles. Surround View is limited to an overhead view as well as viewing the individual cameras. However, 3D Surround View also removes the option to view the feed from the side...

Was your Taycan delivered with missing specs?

It almost seems like MY22 was the peak model year for the Taycan so far. My car was essentially completely specced out with every possible option, yet except for a few months delay (which I was compensated for), everything was properly delivered with the car.

Passenger Display - Taycan Logo Pixels

That's probably just the pattern that is part of the image you're seeing. There might be some local dimming going on that makes it "glow" slightly around the logo, but that's normal (alternatively, it's just how the image is designed; hard to tell). If you don't see uneven brightness in the...
