I let my local Porsche centre install my Blackvue for my CT. I think they mounted the rear camera a bit low (they were apparently concerned about the roof spoiler blocking the view), but that is something I can easily fix myself.
Cable management was spot on, with the only visible cables being...
Mind you, AVAS is only active at low speeds (<30 km/h, though I’ve seen some claim it’s 50 km/h for the Taycan). At higher speeds, you should only be hearing the actual physical motor sound, which sounds like a rather distinct high pitched whine, especially while accelerating.
I would argue that if you’re asking whether the Turbo is worth it, then it probably isn’t.
The Turbo (S) is insanely fast, but so is the 4S. I would never opt for a base Turbo over a higher specced 4S, especially since straight line performance isn’t at all what makes this car (or any Porsche)...
Odd, when I went in to swap to summer tyres today, I got told that my car was apparently tagged for the fix. The alarm has never triggered for me so I assumed they had already fixed it with MY22, but they changed the sensor anyway.
Makes me wonder if the sensor was just outright disabled in my...
I'm not entirely sure how it works exactly, but I think you can go into the device menu and deselect CarPlay for you phone, which should stop it from automatically launching when you start the car.
Of course, this will prevent CarPlay from loading entirely, so if you want to load it you will...
I’m not sure if the built in Apple Music player does anything different, but I’m very sure the lighting does indeed change depending on the album art of what is playing through CarPlay.
Except for the front and back camera, the other camera icons only rotates the 3D view camera into different preset angles.
The bottom one with the two arrows simply activates 3D view so that you can rotate the camera around the car.
Like I said, fancy, but almost impossible to actually...
Not that it matters at this point, but for MY22 they've bundled 3D view together with numerous different parking assist features (Exit Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Manoeuvring Assist, e.t.c) in the Remote Parking package so if one wants any of those features then you kinda have to get 3D...
Since there has been some discussion lately about the different parking assist features, I just realised that I don't seem to have any way to activate the side view cameras; I can only change to different angles in the 3D view visualisation.
While 3D view is fancy, I honestly find it at best to...
Yes, timers that you set in the app or in the PCM are effectively departure schedules.
When you turn on heating/cooling either remotely or through a timer, it will automatically turn on the seat and steering wheel heaters too if needed. There is however no way to only activate e.g. the...
Just remember that it does not work the other way around.
The Tesla mobile charger somehow doesn’t follow the Mennekes standard and might even damage the charge port if the 3-phase charger is plugged into a non-Tesla, according to Tesla support and some reports.
There are however a few...
On the left side of the PCM there are three rows of icons to launch certain apps (Home, car settings and notifications). On MY22 (before the coloured ones), they added two more rows to make it more customizable. I thought that was also when they released wireless CarPlay, but maybe I'm mistaken.
Odd that they apparently have a separate software branch for the old PCM that they are still updating in parallel to the main version. From the photos it seems like you're even running the Taycan exclusive pre-wireless CarPlay version where there are only three quick launch apps.
