Porsche connect. Should I buy it?

Mine's due for renewal next month. Am in two minds. I don't use streaming music services. I do like up to date maps. I do like to see SoC. I have had a few instances where remote park assist got me out of a scrape. I use cabin preconditioning a lot. Trip data from the app is "useful"...

GTS having issues should I bite the bullet and get a new 4s sport tourism

Stick with what you have. Make sure they fix it though.

GTS having issues should I bite the bullet and get a new 4s sport tourism

Are the dealers offering a deal on change due to the issues you've had? Are the issues resolved?

    Best resale Colour and specs

Cherry's brilliant ? Gentian was my 2nd favourite. Monotone's dull. If you're worried about resale, you're buying the wrong car.

    Which Taycan?

What cars are you coming from history wise? You have a Golf GTI in your profile. A 4S will feel like a significant step up IMO. So should be "enough" initially. Check options carefully though. A spec'd up 4S can quickly exceed a Turbo price-wise. GTS is a great compromise (biased ?) if you...

    Cup holder lights

Just posted on another thread, but some cars do seem to get afflicted one fault after another. That said, 37yrs of driving and I'm not sure I've ever had a car that didn't have foibles! Cup holders are genuinely easy to look at. Warranty claim was refused on mine which irritated as it's a poor...

    Cup holder lights

Only if you have ambient lighting.

Transmission failure - had to flatbed it

Nothing empirical, but it does seem like some cars have succession ls of faults and others not many. Poor QC standards?

    Cup holder lights

They do. They're easy to take out (there's a vid linked to on here) and you could easily find it's just a clip that has come out. The spring loaded bars had gone awol in mine. Took 10mins to get both out, glued them onto the holder (as the small plastic tabs had snapped - piss poor design)...

Pencil stuck under seat runner between seat and console

Child yes, but ferret would be animal cruelty! You haven't seen what my kids put down seat sides (and that despite me banning eating in my car!).

Retrofit of the J1II HV Battery into J1I vehicles

So by the sounds of it... - any car needing a full battery pack replacement will get a J1.1 battery pack until those run out - presumably warranty replaced J1.1 battery packs will be stripped for spares and refurbed as J1.1 battery packs for use in other warranty replacements - when all that...

Pencil stuck under seat runner between seat and console

Almost did this...tried to use another probe to get it, then nearly lost that. It's not stopping the seat working so have decided to pretend it's a pencil case :)

Pencil stuck under seat runner between seat and console

I'm saving that for when the battery explodes D

Pencil stuck under seat runner between seat and console

Anyone else had this? Any bright ideas for extraction given the thing has now fully hidden under the runner? Anyone lost anything bigger there? Small children? Bananas?

    Might have made a mistake!

Book a hotel with a charger, is what I was meaning. Then you don't need Ionity immediately after.

Retrofit of the J1II HV Battery into J1I vehicles

Does it? We'll see I guess. Recertifying seems a bogus argument. I could imagine it being needed for the change in pack (weight, chemistry etc) but not releasing range. Still not convinced it will happen.

Retrofit of the J1II HV Battery into J1I vehicles

Use able battery capacity is 12%+ more on the new one. That's the biggest gain by far. Wheels and tyres are next (narrower rims, better tyres).

    Might have made a mistake!

One other consideration... Which hotel are you staying at? And do they have chargers you can book? If you're getting 6-7hrs shut eye you can get nearly full on a 7kw charger...
