In retrospect I probably should have had options for "have it, wish I didn't" and "don't have it, wish I did" in the poll. While it appears I can edit the poll still, I'm not sure there's a compelling reason to do so at this point (and I suspect editing the poll will reset everyone's votes...
I put a deposit down on a Turbo a few weeks ago. My current configuration: PLUX4HT0
I've been going back and forth on whether to add rear axle steering. I have a couple of weeks before my configuration is locked to make a decision. Things I'm taking into consideration:
This is my daily...
I've only driven the Turbo. The dealer had the 4S and Turbo available for test drive but the Turbo S was inside the showroom. I like the turbo for multiple reasons:
The price is not well outside my budget. Turbo S is more than I want to spend, personally.
The Turbo has enough performance...
I can't say that I've given a lot of thought to the purchase aspect of dealer vs direct sales model, but I have I couldn't disagree more when it comes to service. When Tesla refuses to honor their warranty, as they frequently do these days, your only recourse is a lawsuit. The dealer, OTOH...
images from my installation. Upper right panel is dedicated to the charger circuit. Left is literally everything else in the house. The 2nd pic is just to show the size of the additional grounding cable they installed to comply with code.
Money ;)
When I had my HPWC installed for my Tesla, I had an extensive panel set up to support the 100A circuit and potentially solar metering as well (which never panned out). I was lucky in that the transformer feeding my house was in my front yard and the cables laid from there two my...
I can't review it as I have neither the charger nor the car at this point but I can explain my thinking. I'm currently planning on installing a Clipper Creek HCS-50. The -60 produces more power than the Porsche can charge with via type 1. I already have a Tesla HPWC but don't want to use an...
Thinking about it a bit, raising the suspension might be to avoid hitting the wheel stops with the undercarriage. I remember this being an issue for Teslas. Hopefully the Taycan doesn't settle the suspension down when you put it in park, like the tesla, thus latching on hard to those wheel stops.
Aha, so the app was to access the paid charger. That makes sense. They didn't make that clear in the video, but very little was actually made clear in that video ;)
Edit: I also notice they spelled recommended incorrectly :D
Isn't the app currently only available on iOS? So what's the role of the app in charging here, or were they just showing off that you *could* use the app for some undescribed purpose? I'm confused.
And why raise the suspension? That video is pretty short on information
For those of you commenting on the rear axle steering, how much weight is added by this option? And just how reliable is the extra complexity? While the initial cost isn't that high, relatively speaking, it seems like the sort of thing that would end up needing expensive repairs over time.
I like the sense of openness that you get with the glass roof, even though the driver can't really see through it typically. Can't speak to temperature control in the Taycan but the sun has never felt overbearing in my Tesla. The inside of the car is going to get warm if you let it sit, no...
I bought my first EV in 2014 I think, and the second in 2016. My philosophy is that money spent on enhancing charging capability and battery capacity is rarely (if ever) wasted. I added the 150kW charger option to my configuration in spite of the fact that the lion's share of my driving is just...
I never placed an order. I had actually sold my index fund shares when things had just started to sour but before they really tanked and IIRC before there were any lock downs outside of China, because I was planning on ordering. More to the point I'd had enough of Tesla and needed something...
