Have you checked what the charger actually delivers? There is always a difference between the actual charge amount the charger delivers and what the car shows. On my charger I can see the precise charge rate (10,7kWh typically) when the car will show 9,8 or something like that. In theory the...
Who did the assembly of the Taycan modules?
It is good to see that Porsche takes ownership of the process which gives them more control over performance and quality etc.
Based on the article I see interpret it the same way as @tigerbalm that the cells themselves are still produced by external...
As expected mine got the 3885 update when it was in last week. But they had also disabled the charge planner! They did not mention anything but all other settings are as I left them. Seems like they get instructed to disable it. They could at least inform about it. But their service is generally...
Sounds like it. Mine just died without warning so you are lucky that they at least are a bit proactive on your car.
Wonder how they determine that it's about to fail.
My car is in this week for a failed heater and I mentioned the navigation issue. They claimed that "something new came out this week - We will try and install that update". I assume it will get 3885 but let's see.
Well in that case I can switch off charge planner and never use it again :D I always plan my stops using ABRP as it allows me to filter on number of stalls, facilities and vendor. And then type each stop in manually. I have not a single time relied on the charge planner actually doing any work...
Well, I can say that mine changed 5% (84 to 89%) and have stayed within 1% of the "new" value for the last 3000km. It seems really dependent on how my charging habbits are. Looking at the actual range of the car it also matches better with the high value than the low.
The only tests the dealers...
"High accuracy" - I have seen mine vary 5% depending on charge pattern. I would agree that right after calibration it's likely pretty accurate but if you just plug it in after 100kkm it could be off by a bit.
My car was originally delivered 2 months late due to lack of heater units available (was in early 2023). I assumed that they eventually put in an improved part before delivery.
But unfortunately not. Today I lost all heat and car has now been picked up by Porsche Assistance to get it replaced...
I've always managed to keep my steering wheels matte for years by cleaning them with a damp microfiber towel every couple of weeks and wiping with a dry one.
I was just at the local launch of the new Cayenne EV yesterday where they talked about Porsches new strategy about "having a car type for every customer". Yeah right.
If they end out killing the Cayman EV and we are left with two SUV's and a Taycan where they can't figure out how to do a OTA...
I think I posted a while back about this but do others also see massive slowdowns when having the map in the drivers displays? Even when I have no active navigation it seems that the UI slows down in periods corresponding when the nav would hang as well.
Luckily I only use the nav when going on...
It will be interesting to see what he thinks longer term. It's been a period where youtubers etc. try to distance themselves from EV's. But to be fair Richard has done videos with the pre-release Cayenne and did a race with James in the Taycan Turbo GT. So he's not exactly new to Porsche EV's...
Agreed. I know Volvo uses a scheme where they will update the cars for free when they are in for service. If you want the latest and greatest upgrade without other service tasks they will charge you.
Oh, btw they fixed their OTA capabilities in that process so future updates can be rolled out...
Oh thats new - But i guess that should not surprise us :D
I'll look if I get the update.
They should really provide release notes in the app so people can check what have actually been installed.
Like the last OTA regarding the charging system the only way to see what it does is to read the notes before you install it.
The AI generated text is probably purely guessing with no reference to anything official. I'll try to snap a picture of the install notes if I get the update.
I'm following as well. The I4 and i5 have proven very successful around here and are generally very well built cars with no major issues. So if the do a proper M3 variant I would be interested in it as well. I surely prefer Porsche but with them being so outdated with their offering I won't buy...
I hear this regularly from the center console of my car. Had the same with loaners as well. Mostly I don't notice as I have music playing but especially on roadtrips both me and my wife gets annoyed by it. Apparently just a feature of the Taycan though.
