A 1.5 second following distance behind a semi has a significant impact, behind a van or SUV you need to be about 1 second behind. If you have the power meter up you can see the change in power consumption there.
Let's see, I left off at the end of Day 3. Since then it's been pretty straightforward but busy days. We arrived in Pasco Washington where we spend two days at six vineyards. The Taycan collected compliments at several.
Here we are at Goose Ridge Vineyards. We also visited Badger Mountain...
Range mode because the PIRM does its supposed magic only when in range mode. So far its magic seems to be limited to slamming on the brakes when it does a route recalculation. We have given up on range mode and the PIRM now.
Day three started with a fine patina on the front of the car and not enough range to make it to our first charging stop.
Because of the miscommunication with the hotel about which types of EVs could charge at the hotel we needed to backtrack about 20 miles and charge a cold battery a bit above...
Got in a bit later than hoped. Too much fun chatting with winery owners. A quick 45 minute to one hour stop stretches into a two hour tasting and cheese plate a couple of times and it messes with the schedule.
Here's Fluffy Fields Winery in Dickinson ND, mostly Marquette and Frontenac.
The...
I suspect it may have to do with the battery warranty. Without active cooling during hard use and fast charging the battery will overheat and degrade much faster. Cheaper to replace some heat pumps than damaged batteries.
After the issue finding a functioning charger yesterday we decided to check all of our potential stops today and found that while ABRP and Lorelai both think that the charger in Dickinson ND is functioning, Plugshare disagrees. We're sitting in the welcome center at Mandan ND at a 60 kW charger...
Day 1. A short 334 miles today just to make sure our processes are down. Lorelai* and ABRP disagreed on the best route. Because we knew there was construction on the southern (ABRP) route (MN 2 and 200) we went with the northern route (MN 210) which is about the same distance and time but...
Here's your answer. The new model shifts earlier. The torque curve on an electric motor is essentially a straight horizontal line. The horsepower peak would be at the shift point. You have the same acceleration curve, the same torque curve but because the motor doesn't wind out to 16,000 RPM...
Darn, you're right. This is not something inside the app where you could paint a background and use transparency. It has to be pre-generated and in the app package sent to the store. That really limits the options.
This showed up after I updated the app the other day. Didn't think much of it at the time.
I'm only impressed if the app background works with PTS colors.
I will be staying there and will keep an eye out for the potholes. In fact, the whole route is populated with almost exclusively Marriott/Bonvoy benefitting from a few years of 50% to 80% on the road leaving me with about 2000 night and super elite lifetime status.
Can't be worse than the...
In my former life I spent quite a bit of time in Washington, Spokane, Wenatchee, Yakima, and a significant amount of time in Redmond/Seattle. Strangely, not much time in Oregon.
Winery wise I'd love any suggestions you have.
