    Seized cooling fans.

What I'd like to mention is that while WD-40 is a great anti-seize formula it is not a lubricant. What would be a proper lubricant in this case would depend on the motor shaft and bearings/bushings. I happen to have some of this oil on hand and the circulator pump I use it on is sixty years...

    Complete brake failure !!

One pedal/bumper car driving is NOT REGEN! Regen is using the electric motors to slow the car. When you press the brake pedal in the Taycan it uses regen up to 290 kilowatts which is pretty damn ferocious braking, only if you need to brake harder than that does it use the physical disks. The...

    Complete brake failure !!

I took his "pedal hit the floor ... brake fluid all over the floor" in post six to mean floor of the car and not on the ground. But we're all often unreliable narrators so you could be right.

    Complete brake failure !!

Can I offer a theory as to what happened here? Having gone through the Audi J1 self study guide I think I know what happened. They Taycan has a mostly brake by wire system. When you depress the brake on a "normal" car, a mechanical linkage compresses the fluid in the brake master cylinder...

"Charge Complete" when battery at 26%

There's likely a couple of things going on here. In the nav, you set your target charge at the destination. If the target is 20% and you'd arrive at 5% the nav system will schedule a charging stop and be very insistent if you don't stop and charge. I've found the best way to deal with that is to...

🔋 Baseline for HV Battery SoH Performance (Battery Degradation Data by Taycan Owners)

I'm going to pretend the reason I fully charged last night was because I was excited to do a 5000 mile update rather than because I forgot to disable direct charging after enabling it before a longer trip yesterday. Didn't go straight from 100% zero to 100%, but did go from 95% to 3% to 100%...

About to lock in Macan GTS. Will I regret not choosing the facelift Taycan 4S?

The RHD variants were axed because there aren't enough sales to justify the cost of the additional tooling. Steer by wire doesn't change the need for a totally revised dashboard assembly and wiring harness.

[POLL] Did environmental considerations influence your decision to purchase a Taycan?

We had already determined to buy an EV, the Taycan was simply the most practical choice.

Porsche Reimbursement for a non-Porsche wall charger

In the letter from Porsche, they offered a service voucher if you don't need a replacement. Has anyone gone with that?

Redshift Performance Intro - Taycan ECU Performance Packages

Porsche and Audi have taken a "repeatable performance" stance in the tuning of the cars. If the battery is at optimal temperature and near full charge, the maximum amperage you can draw from it is higher than if it's cold and at a lower charge level. Porsche decided they want the same...

Will older models get the new push to pass upgrade?

As has been mentioned there's the assignable button on the steering wheel. I don't see Porsche offering it as a free upgrade, but I do see them offering it as a feature on demand.

So are 'new' Turbo S Taycans essentially unsalable at present?

Porsche can address this, and probably should. They've always been good about supporting and upgrading older models. I'm unsure how plug and play it would be, but offering a V2 battery upgrade, even if it's absurdly expensive would be a way to indicate they have a long term commitment to their...

    Remove the 25% minimum charge

The Taycan's charging management is based around profiles (which are location based) and timers. There is a "minimum charge" setting in each profile and it isn't obvious what that means. Let's say I have a "home" profile tied to my home that says the best time to charge is between 11:00 PM and...

Recoup / Regen - Does it stay “fixed” on the last setting, or always reset to “off”?

It resets to off every time because the lift off recuperation setting affects emissions (such as they are in an EV) and allowing it to be changed permanently would be an illegal emissions defeat device. Porsche is pretty adamantly against one-pedal driving and they seem to have the data showing...

    Remove the 25% minimum charge

I get around this by setting my EVSE (Wallbox Pulsar Plus) to only charge after 11:00 PM when lower rates start. Both the app and car report a charging error but it does start to charge after 11 when the low rates start. This is the error it's giving me right now. I've heard that with some...

    2025 Taycan configurator now available!

Because I didn't realize that the heated wheel is now standard. As I was trying to replicate our current build there was no heated wheel option, which we paid $280 for. Somehow, I just couldn't imagine Porsche not having everything a la carte and actually including that with the base build.

    2025 Taycan configurator now available!

They have in the past defined it as a limousine. Which is good for window tinting in Minnesota. Passenger cars are limited to 50% tint on all windows. Trucks, and limousines can have arbitrarily dark tint behind the driver. That let us tint the rear windows a bit more so it's just that much...

Any hopes for prior Taycan's for significant upgrade?

It took a couple of months after purchase before ALK and Innodrive showed up in features on demand for our car.
