I’m thinking the same, and we’re postponing our road trip this summer. This is a really a drawback. An unwanted stop on the Autobahn can be fatal. So can a stop in a tunnel, or road/turns with reduced visibility. It all comes down to safety which is vital, and a obviously minimum requirement...

As of yet, the solution to the problem is to restart by turning the vehicle off and then back on. After that the system and "engine failure" seems to function normal. Then I can select drive and take off :captain:

My Taycan Turbo S stopped again on the highway yesterday, May 15th. The last time was April 27th. This is not good :facepalm: I might not be so lucky next time, and worrying about an accident! On both incidents, I had the latest software installed. I've got an appointment with my Porsche Center...

On the bright side: Here in Europe we can kidnap whoever we want without risk the victim escape, and save the cost of duct tape (like you need for precaution over in the US). With sport sound turned on, no one will even hear screaming from the trunk :bandit:

I wonder why Porsche couldn’t make a sunglass holder over the mirror area, like the one I had in my MB S-class. It was very convenient, and I do miss that little box. Now in my Taycan I must store my glasses in the department behind the lower screen. That’s okay too, but still . . .

Just curious, not that it probably matters, but still. . . only to check if there is any comparison: Which mode did you all drive in when these incidents occurred? I myself had the car in Sport mode at the time. Can't get this out of my head and worry about if or when this will happen again. ...

Very cool video indeed! I became a little uneasy when I saw all that that mud built up along his semi off road trip. Very controversial, as I always wash and polish my TS after a little dust on the surface, a bird dropping on the paint, or when my neighbour spits on the car regularly...

I believe you are correct in your suspicions, and do agree with your points. Every safety issue is a serious matter, even if its vehicle stopping or missing reverse cam, and they all should be handled accordingly. Porsche can be held reliable if an accident occurs when the system lags or fail...

I really hope you’re right on both points! German craftsmanship and engineering are usually high standard, which Porsche also is known for. On Taycanforum I get a lot of vital information, almost instantly, which make me more confident that Porsche feels obligated to fix different issue best...

I definitely agree with you! With “no fix” I meant hopefully not mechanically. I really don’t like my new car 800V battery to be refitted, cause this often results in more issues or faults. So my fingers are rather crossed for another software update to delete this the virus . . . like a Pfizer...
