This is a stupid argument. It’s like a few weeks of engineering work. EVs offer their customers charging schedules based on the cheapest rates, as published by their local utilities. People plug their cars in whenever they can, and the cars draw current based the calculation of the least cost...
TL;DR supply can’t keep up with demand, so raising prices is a natural response. Porsche‘s ability to increase production is much much more limited. They’re running the factory lines as hard as they can. Building new factories costs billions and takes years.
Regenerative braking is frequently (always?) is not available briefly on start. I haven’t figured out what exactly the criteria is, and that randomness and opacity is part of what I dislike about EV blended brakes. Teslas do similar things, particularly at high charge.
Nobody else here is talking about the brakes failing to stop the car. They're all talking about sometimes the pedal pressure is bizarre in a few different ways. A sudden softness and pressing into the mechanical brakes, which work, is not the same as the brakes fail.
You claim the car fails...
yes.
your problem is making melodramatic claims that all taycans braking is defective, despite no such evidence at NHTSA. When you should be thinking more about your own car desperately needing repair
you claim a 1-2” puddle does this at slow speed with no steering angle. I do not believe...
either his particular unit is defective / in need of maintenance / or he’s just not braking hard enough. I drive PCCBs in the cold and rain, on the taycan and 911. The blended brakes have a different feel which I consider compromised for regen. Both need some extra pressure under poor driving...
ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
you wrote that in March 2023 ? After we’ve had more storms and rainfall since … historical records began ?
ahahahahahhaha
ps we know the issue hasn’t caused accidents because there are no NHTSA reports of such. Better fucking believe I’d file one if I...
Ymmv i guess. I’ve never gotten more than about 170kw from a 350kw EA charger. Usually it’s 120-140, just like the 150kw chargers. I really suspect they are throttling. There’s been no difference between the 350 and 150 chargers for the last 6 months or so. And Tesla superchargers are...
I’ve really enjoyed the track experience courses (90m or 4 hours) at the experience centers and went to the 2 day advanced track program at Barber Motorsports Park . All great stuff.
”what daveo said”
i have noticed different levels of resistance and pedal travel for the same action. They work perfectly but don’t feel perfectly. They’re blended brakes, not a GT car.
+1. Anyone can complain. Apparently there are no injuries or even ANY accidents associated with this issue.
a brake issue. That doesn’t cause accidents.
Mmkay. I’ll wait for the official response.
like every blended brake solution I’ve used, it has some feel and randomness I don’t like...
My experience with EA has been Vastly better than @daveo4EV but it’s still pretty ugly compared to supercharging. At one of the most premier EA sites in California, 25% of the stalls are regularly broken. The 350Kw stalls never charge faster than the 150kw ones. Usually a mini or 7kw hybrid...

the gearbox exists because that was the only way the j1 platform could hit the minimum saleable range targets with the battery tech and power train efficiency they had.
The End
Taycan on track will run out of battery long long before brakes. It’s usable completely stock. By comparison, a model S on track with OEM brakes is an effective way to shit your pants or worse.
The surface coating is totally unnecessary, but it is nice. It cuts back on rust and brake dust. the brakes stay relatively cleaner without paying mega bucks for ceramics
none of the pts colors are available either for the entire MY2023. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were having logistic issues with other special but less than pts special paints too
No. In my jurisdiction there’s no tax credit for trade ins. A huge cost to switch for just one year. I have a ‘22 with the glass roof and don’t find the variable roof, while cool, to be like $50k cool.
