    Bentley GT vs Taycan

Quick summary from experience Bentley GT - feels a lot heavier - not as quick accelerating (obviously) - feels more luxurious - will cost more to maintain Obviously there is potentially a huge price difference - depending on the age and spec you're looking at. Taycan is more sports biased...

    Taycan charger

In summary.... There is a known issue with the Porsche product that is related to under sizing of the cable, causing it to get too hot, causing the fault you're seeing. The solution they have instructed is to limit the charge current (increasing the time). They are not admitting this a product...

    Taycan charger

Mine started doing this after a year also. I believe it is heat related. Trying switching to "50%" charge rate by pressing and holding that button after resetting the power to the unit. It will take longer to charge, but will avoid the error.

    Taycan easter eggs

Agreed OP, there are some freaking harsh critics here - although I don't think they are intending to be critical of you. While the term "easter egg" might be applied liberally here, I think this is a good video overall. I've had mine for a year and learnt a few new things: sliding volume, car...

4S maxed out at 154 MPH

I'm on your side! I was meaning that THEY should not have got upset about you stopping. People need to chill - I'm with you on this

4S maxed out at 154 MPH

Good on you! I am a self confessed speeder, but I do keep a safe distance from the car in front and stop at signs. I think it's odd that people get so wound up for little things. I read about the excessive honking in China, but I think it's only related to certain urban areas. My experience in...

4S maxed out at 154 MPH

For me, yes. For all intents and purposes it will out accelerate almost any other car you'll meet. I have a few bikes that are quicker off the line (under perfect conditions), but the 4S is so effortless and consistent. It's fast enough to be exciting, but not too fast that you have to be...

4S maxed out at 154 MPH

Interesting discussion to follow. I'm originally from the UK (was banned for 6 months in my 20's for points accumulated). Lived in France, Germany, New Zealand, Japan. Driven cars/ridden bikes in many other countries; S. America, Africa, India, China, Australia etc. It amazes me the vast...

Are you also susceptible to marketing that makes you crave cars that would be awful in reality?

Nice! Panigale is sexy, but also fairly pointless for road use - in the GT4 RS vein for sure. I have an 848 - older version of the same. I've had a Diavel for 11 years now. It's insane power, but actually quiet usable. More like a 911 4S I would say.

Are you also susceptible to marketing that makes you crave cars that would be awful in reality?

I am 100% in the camp of the OP and 100% agree that "want" cars are almost all a terrible match for real life. As a Lotus Elise owner, I can tell you that it's rarely the first choice to nip out to the shop to grab something quickly. I can also say that motorcycles are a whole other level of...

    Launch control very impressive

It's interesting to read people not using it, or doing so sparingly. Honestly, I use it regularly - especially when I have a passenger. I find it quite within reasonable limits of control. Perhaps a function of my motorcycle use.....or extremely low level of maturity?

    Storage for year or more

Gotta love forums. I love the way only one person has actually attempted to answer the question in a sensible way. I have a car and motorcycle collection and consider there are two ways to store; "live" or "dormant" For live, then I try and protect; tires, battery, fluids and paint as...

    Heater broken. My turn.

Thanks for sharing. Interesting. I was told the exact opposite from the dealer Service Manager on both counts. Told me that the HV heater shares function between cabin and battery. Told me also that Porsche told him that all Taycan's will need to be back in for a further replacement. I...

    Heating Failure

    1) HV heater is for both cabin a battery. Should not be used long term is my understanding 2) I was told by the dealer 3 weeks ago that it will need to come back in once they have a newly designed part 3) I didn't see any warning message. Dealer told me that they can tell by running a diagnostic

    Heater broken. My turn.

Interesting. My answers (based on my experience) would have been the opposite in all cases 1) The heater is also used for the battery, so will have an impact on more than just cabin heat 2) Porsche do not yet have an updated part. I had mine replaced 3 weeks ago and was told it would be back...

New tires needed after only 7K miles!!!

Lucky to get 4k miles on motorcycle tires or 5k on my Lotus Elise. Love it when Toyota drivers realize that sticky tires on fast cars wear quicker. :)
