Taycan drops camo revealing headlights, tail lights, rear side window

Wow......what a great question. So my first reaction to that is......it really is more about the car than the dollars. Over two years ago when I was the first in my market to place a deposit.....I had no problem with a $150K Mission E. I would have planned on keeping it for a significant length...

    Taycan at FOS Goodwood

Well....call it whatever.......but as one who has watched this daily since 2015.....that mule body came out late 2017. Knowing Porsche for over 30 years......I was the only one, at that time, warning that this 'body' was probably it. Herr Blume, at that same time, said "the design is fixed"...

    Taycan at FOS Goodwood

    Again......same mule body.

If that does it for you, congrats......but definitely not the Mission E hips.......and definitely not the 918-like front fender arches.....and definitely not the...... It's still the same Taycan (mule) body.....but if it looks good for you then you have a winner. I'm sure it will still sell well.

Not to answer for TheSnape but........'advertising' as in still putting it out there....the image of the 'E'.....not a specific "advertisement". It's gone on for over 2 years.....and as late as 2 weeks ago, 6/26, Porsche and Michael Mauer had the gal to put out 3 (supposedly "new...

    Headlight Design

Porsche seems committed to the 4 element design as a semi-distinguishing characteristic of Porsche vehicles. Just my opinion but forcing that concept into the famously round 911 headlamps makes absolutely no sense to me. I guess it works here.........as one of the few bold Mission E features...

Taycan drops camo revealing headlights, tail lights, rear side window

Well....they already have that....a Panamera in something like 8 different versions. This was heralded as THE future of the marque.....with pace-setting design to prove it....and I am not making that up :) . The 2014/15 highly polished marketing videos were at least 80% about how Porsche Design...

Close Enough ? Yes or No

Yep........understood.........I've had new Porsche's cut-up by good tuners in Germany after leaving Zuffenhausen.......but the 'bodies' looked good from the jump and they weren't 4-door sedans. To each his own....the car only has to pull your chain.

Close Enough ? Yes or No

It doesn't. Life is too short. If 'driving' ranks high as one of life's simple pleasures....compromise should not be in the cards. Everyone's different. You know your own priorities......you know how you rank them. I've driven a 911 home after work for many years......rain, snow, winter...

    Completely Revealed Taycan

That graphic is essentially the same as one or more of the drawings on the wall of the design studio circa 2014.....you can see it as Borkert, Korner and team walk around the clay mock-up of the Mission E body. Taycan body (circa late 2017 mule) it is not.......unfortunately.

    Taycan advertisements

You are too kind calling it "strange" behavior...........borderline 'shameless' in my book. One could assume Porsche Marketing thinks the differentiation is something beyond the 'average buyer' (who will spend over $100K and who has been following this four years :-) ).

    Just more computer generated.

Close Enough ? Yes or No

Porschephiles and/or people who are drawn to Porsche are concerned with looks?......nahhh. Course I'm joking.....but another ingredient here is simply that for many, we've been drawn to the beauty of the Mission E body. That draw has been reinforced continually since 2015. Not all of us of...

Close Enough ? Yes or No

Ron.........judging from posts over the last year and a half (as the mule became better known as Taycan) there actually are a fair number of depositors who feel the same as GT3GT4 man.

Close Enough ? Yes or No

I will probably do the same.....simply because the wife needs a different 'dog-hauler' while we have some restoration work done on her E55 AMG. I still hold the grudge with Porsche. The 'E' had so much promise and appeal. The fellas in the Design Dept did an incredible job. As I've said...

Received a "limited edition collectible brochure"

Yep.....beautiful presentation, beautiful marketing. Intro letter signed by Zellmer & Mota, PCNA. Incredibly, inside they are still showing images of the beautiful 'E' body.....I count 4 in the book....plus a CG'd one of the make-believe Taycan assembly line (a larger one than has been out...

Would we be out of line to possibly ask for some disclaimer....or are we safe in assuming you are not affiliated in any with Porsche AG or an authorized dealership? Thank you.

So...........that means it's better looking than the Panamera. Hard to believe anything could be that beautiful, but I guess you're right. Sarcasm off.
