Wow......what a great question. So my first reaction to that is......it really is more about the car than the dollars. Over two years ago when I was the first in my market to place a deposit.....I had no problem with a $150K Mission E. I would have planned on keeping it for a significant length...

Well....call it whatever.......but as one who has watched this daily since 2015.....that mule body came out late 2017. Knowing Porsche for over 30 years......I was the only one, at that time, warning that this 'body' was probably it. Herr Blume, at that same time, said "the design is fixed"...

If that does it for you, congrats......but definitely not the Mission E hips.......and definitely not the 918-like front fender arches.....and definitely not the...... It's still the same Taycan (mule) body.....but if it looks good for you then you have a winner. I'm sure it will still sell well.

Porsche seems committed to the 4 element design as a semi-distinguishing characteristic of Porsche vehicles. Just my opinion but forcing that concept into the famously round 911 headlamps makes absolutely no sense to me. I guess it works here.........as one of the few bold Mission E features...

Well....they already have that....a Panamera in something like 8 different versions. This was heralded as THE future of the marque.....with pace-setting design to prove it....and I am not making that up :) . The 2014/15 highly polished marketing videos were at least 80% about how Porsche Design...

Yep........understood.........I've had new Porsche's cut-up by good tuners in Germany after leaving Zuffenhausen.......but the 'bodies' looked good from the jump and they weren't 4-door sedans. To each his own....the car only has to pull your chain.

That graphic is essentially the same as one or more of the drawings on the wall of the design studio circa 2014.....you can see it as Borkert, Korner and team walk around the clay mock-up of the Mission E body. Taycan body (circa late 2017 mule) it is not.......unfortunately.

You are too kind calling it "strange" behavior...........borderline 'shameless' in my book. One could assume Porsche Marketing thinks the differentiation is something beyond the 'average buyer' (who will spend over $100K and who has been following this four years :-) ).

Ron.........judging from posts over the last year and a half (as the mule became better known as Taycan) there actually are a fair number of depositors who feel the same as GT3GT4 man.
