Thanks! I haven't heard this, so this is good info. What I've read on Rennlist referred to this as the Porsche extended warranty and others such as Fidelity by the insurer or agent.
Any insight on Safeguard vs Fidelity? (And I guess now maybe Allstate)
Hmmm.... then it seems to be a distinction without a difference with what's discussed so far. If they all functionally cover the same things, under the same conditions, and the only difference is that duration and deductible can be adjusted, I'm not seeing a real difference. (I am speaking to...
@joneffingvo What was the manufacturing date for your 2020? Just wondering when they switched over to the good batteries, if that can even be ascertained.....
I'm trying to understand what you're saying. If I read your post right, the difference between the two is a zero deductible and a standard duration. So what's the difference in terms and coverage between an extended warranty and a zero-deductible service contract from Porsche at the "standard...
Can you clarify? I called and asked a Porsche dealer about extended warranty, they connected me to finance, he went through prices with varying durations and deductibles.... I'm not sure I understand what makes it not the extended warranty.
I've been checking for this as well, and here was the price from one dealer... $475 to get the check for the warranty, and they quoted me about $6000/4 yrs with a $100 deductible and $7000/4 years with $0 deductible
@dnigrin Since yours is a 2020... and coming out clean, did you have modules replaced? What is the production or first (for sale) date for your car ? I'm asking because I'm curious about 2020s... which have supposedly the weakest batteries... Thanks
@ct14garage Very helpful and useful! And thanks for sharing your expertise.
Few small questions
(1) I see this statement above 2020s (obviously from your very insightful experience), and also see some (at least 1-2 posters) here had good results in 2020 versions (e.g. post 41 in this thread)...
I'm currently in the process of trying to switch from a 911 to a Taycan (have listed my 911 for sale), so I've been pondering EV/ICE a lot. However, I've had my 911 for 10 years. It's been an absolutely joy as a car enthusiast to have the car that is a blast to handle and also a car culture...
