The driving experience is great, the build quality is premium, but the software and the penny pinching for what should be standard options... is not great.
Thanks, but unfortunately as I noted in my original post, I do not have Google search in my nav... I don't know why (maybe because I don't have a Porsche connect subscription?)
I've had my 2020 Taycan 4S for about a month... and it came with all updates done. One minor issue - I can't seem to find local businesses/locations on the Porsche Nav system on the PCM when doing a search. The local business will not show up, but the system will instead prompt choices of...
I did some more forum readings and stumbled upon another thread where someone has successfully used the top circuit for both the dashcam and the radar detector.

@JTZen, thank you! That's all I needed. I'm going to do them this weekend. I'm putting in an older Valentine one Gen 1, but I may switch/upgrade to the Uniden over time as I read they're better for the photo speed cameras we have all over Chicago.
They Taycan is new to me, and I'm switching...
@JTZen Are you able to successfully use the FitCamX and radar detector (via mirror tap) off the rearview mirror circuit? I have all the parts, but another posting discouraged me from doing both. It would be good to have a data point of success.
Thanks
Curious - why are you selling it?
I'm looking for one for my new-to-me 2020 4S, but holding off until I know I can use a lip without breaking it on day 1 on stupid roads around me.
Thank you Derek. The power draw is so small it seems like it should work. But one data point and it being a failure is certainly reason to pause and consider an alternative. Thanks
(Bringing this thread back ...)
Did anyone ever do both the FitCamX and a radar detector from the mirror power?
I'm considering doing the FitCamX with the included mirror power draw, and using a mirror tap in that circuit for a Valentine 1 (gen 1).
I don't know the power draws, but from what I...
I understand your logic, but check the max payout on the policy if that's really a concern. For the policies where I read the language (not XCare) all of them were limited to current value of car.
Hello Taycan-ers :) Need your help...
I personally like the Exclusive Design wheels (with black trim) the best, and I found a set for sale .... They're posted for sale in a city where a good friend/fellow auto enthusiast lives (not my city)...
When he checked them out for me in person, there...
See post #18 in this thread.
Trenton Gibson at Highline is a retailer of extended warranties and very active in the Porsche forums. He gave me multiple quotes. According to his quote, buying Federal through him increases the limits of the coverage.
@sb89, I did a lot of research on this and just bought my extended warranty (for a 4S bought at 3rd party dealer like you). Some notes to help you
- CarShield is frowned upon by some dealers I talked to (a local one whose service dept is great, refuses to accept CarShield now)
- I believe...
Haha... yes, of course, it's obvious to everyone now. 😉 😀
I think even without a regression, people hopefully can find some close enough data points to their situation to find value, if there's enough data.
Yes, it does seem obvious in retrospect 🙂 (and I work a lot in insurance, so the logic on risk makes sense :D )
However, the vast majority of the posts in this thread share prices without mentioning any of those factors. Hence my post so that others can read this thread/ these prices with some...
FYI to those hoping to get some of the prices mentioned in this thread.
I've been poring over all these forums and have called many of the "recommended" finance managers, 3rd party providers in this thread and other threads, as I've been trying to buy one for a 2020 49K mile 4S that's out of...
