I have experienced many failed attempts at activating the EA charger with Porsche connect lately. It seemed to coincide with the Apple 5G debut (12 Pro), but I have no proof - I just know its true! ;).
However, the silver lining is that when you call the 877 number on the charger, and they start...
I ordered a 4s since it didn't seem like the turbo and turbo S were all that different. When I "stumbled over" a Turbo before my 4s came in, I took it. I'm glad I did because it really feels quite a bit better than the 4s did in the demo test drive. In the first week I had my software upgrade...
Thanks, I was suspecting that would be the case. I will try it anyway next time, just to see if it is my Verizon coverage that sucks. If the EA app communicates ok and lets me charge, I guess it is an issue with Porsche connect...
This is my recent experience: My goto station has been off-line ever since I got the new 5G iPhone 12 Pro, using Porsche Connect. Other locations work fine, so I blame the Verizon network. I have been calling EA each time, and they answer promptly and enable the charger. I will now rethink this...
Mission E wheels was an absolute must for me. When I ordered my 4s, that was one of the first things I had to have. Then this Turbo showed up before my 4s and that was it! Yes, and the silver looks great, btw.
Regarding the "connecting" screen, I get that every time I charge, but only after I select a charger ID and "start charging" from the App.
By the way, yesterday I was unable to charge because my cell provider had some sort of local outage, and I could not get a data connection.
This resulted...
For what it's worth, I have 3500 miles on my Turbo now, no battery issues. I DO use the Connect app for charging at EA and for just checking my charge status and using precool/heat.
To be safe, I did purchase the jumpstarter battery pack mentioned on this forum, but have never used it (so far!)...
I definitely would have chosen that, if available! Now I had to add ceramic film to my "ceiling" in the car. Gives a little more roominess, but in the heat of SoCal , one doesn't need a sunroof. Good Choice!
Today, another surprise! I went to the "supercharger" and the 350kW charger was occupied by a Chevy Bolt, so I went to the 150kW charger.
When I plugged in and it started going it showed 174kW...:oops:
I was going to order that (I love blue), but chickened out and got Carrera white - still happy with it though! The new Neptune looks great in pix. Frozenblue was shocking to me in person - almost got that too!
I also put my iPhone 11 Pro in the cupholder! It gives the perfect, slightly angled towards me, view. I also enjoy the occasional launch and have never had the phone fly out - so far... :)
I agree with whoever says, all cars have issues. Also, these message boards are [in my opinion] overwhelmingly populated with people that A) Know it all (me? :)), or B) people that are looking for solutions to their issues.
I have had my issues myself, I remember back in 1998 when I finally got...
Yes, but no. I'm not so sure that's true. Porsche is leasing 4s at a considerably higher residual than the Turbo/s. I have found in the past that higher priced versions depreciate at a much higher rate than the base models. People that buy the high bracket cars don't want used, so on the second...
Yes! Totally agree. The BEST car I've owned so far, all considered. Btw, did you use a pic of my car? LOL. Still have to post one. Love my mission-E wheels!
Ya,... lots of complaining, but - if you are getting the Taycan to get from "point A to B", you should rethink and get a camry. The Taycan is the best car I have owned so far, and I have been across the entire spectrum! It is fun, powerful, quiet, and great looking. Yes, the charging network...
