No, you CAN'T.
Easy, Evan. I know you're frustrated, and I've already said many of things things you're saying. No one is here to "defend Porsche", so don't take any comment as an attack on you. I'm not doing that, OK?

I mis-phrased, and I'm sorry about that. What I meant was "if you see the charger number in the app, but the kWH is wrong (which is what I'm seeing, as I discussed in another thread), you can start the charge."

Obviously, if the charger doesn't appear at all, you can't start it, although you can call EA and they can start it for you, for free. That's not intended as a defense, just a workaround should you be stuck at a charger you can't activate.

This stuff is definitely rough, as is PCM. Tesla was super rough when it first rolled out, too...I can't tell you how many times I had to call Supercharger service when things weren't working, or were charging super slowly for no reason (other than charger failure). They got better then, and they'll get better here, too.

That's cold comfort if you're stuck at a charger, though - hence the potential workaround.

I hope. :)

apps are horrible and unreliable
As an iOS and Android user, I can definitely say their iOS app, despite being (as far as I can tell) the same basic Electron app, works better. Connect, especially, is just plain terrible on Android: bad enough that I honestly don't understand how it could have passed through basic QA.

Charging NA and EA, though, are basically the same. Which is to say, not great.

Looking forward to plug-and-charge rolling out. Soon, please.

No, actually you can't. Cause the KW isn't wrong!

If you take a look at the charger ID's being presented to you, you will see that NONE of then are 350KW. When you ask to list 350KW terminals. all the app shows you is 150KW terminals instead. This is the core of the problem. Its NOT showing you 350KW terminals, its showing you 150KW terminals. The ID's you are seeing are the wrong terminals...

The KW isn't wrong for the terminals being displayed, its actually correct. I have compared the terminal ID's and its showing us the wrong terminals!.

Charging NA is currently broken. There is no way to use it to activate a 350KW terminal!

This is all covered, demonstrated, screen captured, and confirmed in the Other Thread

I'm talking about the EA app here. I've already gone over this with representatives from EA, sitting in front of chargers, whose numbers and kW values I could verify by simply looking. In addition, I'd actually charged at a number of these chargers before. I know they were 350kW chargers.

This was a few days ago, so it may have changed recently. But as of then, a number of 350kW chargers in MA and NH were listed as 50kW chargers in the EA app (which shows availability if you have an EA account).

Not every charger...

This thread has nothing to do with the EA app. Its specifically about a documented bug in the "Charging NA" App. (See Title of Thread) You can't get the "free" charging you've paid for without it (or Porsche Connect which also has issues...)

But thanks anyway...

It was suggested by EA that the EA app be used to determine whether chargers were occupied, and if the charger won't start with the NA app, they will start a free session for you.

I was also trying to indicate that the data source seems to be messed up at the back end for that, too, and not just the NA app (which I realize has a separate bug)

Honestly, there's no reason to constantly try to prove someone wrong - I'm trying to help here. If you don't want help, OK.

Yeah, I get it. But I also suggested you go over to the OTHER thread so we don't duplicate postings.

If you did, then you would see that I did end up using the EA app and also stated that I was simply going to use it moving forward (even if I have to pay). I came to the very same conclusion... (So, why would I try to "prove you wrong")?

Its all in the OTHER thread... PLEASE, take a peek!

Here are some screenshots from Charging NA (Android). I do NOT need to select a plug type before it displays the available chargers. This seems to be different from the process flow in your version of the Charging NA app.

As you can see from my screenshots, the 350kW chargers are available and I can select them to start a session.

@wemct You have the older version of Charging NA that still works. Do not update right now. It's the latest version that has the bug with 350 chargers.

Yes, you are running an older version of the App.

Again, this is all identified and covered in the other thread (inc the suggestion NOT to update the the latest version if you have the older one)

I'm curious why do you refuse to go to the other thread and read and what we have discovered and participate over there?

Its just a CLICK away!

I have experienced many failed attempts at activating the EA charger with Porsche connect lately. It seemed to coincide with the Apple 5G debut (12 Pro), but I have no proof - I just know its true! ;).
However, the silver lining is that when you call the 877 number on the charger, and they start it for you - you get unlimited charging time! I don’t know if this is some kind of glitch or just EA being nice to “compensate you for the inconvenience” but I think my connect app is going to fail a lot more! LOL.
I parked the car and charged from 19% to 100% in an hour. It takes longer to get the last 20%, as you know. Cost $0.
