I also live in socal and have had mine for two years with lots of hundred degree weather and no problems. It’s not instantly an icebox, but it does the job. (I also have the pano roof and no insulation).
I suspect yours has an issue.
there’s nothing scary about that email. It’s just practical advice received by lots of us who bought the car when it first came out. Back then the servers often had trouble with initial logon.
A server upgrade is GREAT news!
Yeah, stay away. I don’t want every other car to be like mine! But while this forum is a great place to come with problems, you’ll see all the polls and customer satisfaction reports are top notch.
It’s a funny comment, but not a great one. If my Porsche were a brick I might vent here but not hang on every bon mot. He deserves our compassion.
Still, the original poster’s experience is an aberration. Porsche’s got game.
It’s just click bait to get himself some business.

I got the sport sound and I turn it on from time to time and enjoy it. I’d enjoy it a lot more if it could activate automatically. Pushing a button interferes with the illusion that it isn’t completely fake. ?
It’s primarily a way to ease the transition for Porsche enthusiasts to the electric...
All of the things the original poster asks for seem pointless to me except for saved driving settings, which seems so obvious that I can’t believe Porsche doesn’t have it.
I would ask for the car to lock when you walk away. The Cayenne also doesn’t lock when you walk away, requiring a touch...
Tip for new owners: to lock the car after turning it off, place your fingers on the rear door handle and wait. It seems to be checking whether the keys are in the car and is happier when they are farther away. It can’t be recalibrated (per the dealer) but got better with the update.
