Right. I rarely fast charged my Tesla but did 100% charge it at home each night and after 4 years I could just barely notice some degradation. No problem.
But I find 85% on my Taycan is plenty of range so I’m following the recommendation. I’ll have a warm fuzzy feeling knowing it’s battery...
Fast charging and full charging degrade battery life. The warranty isn’t voided by full charging. However, the amount of expected degradation allows for it.
The worst that will happen is that in several years your battery will charge a lower amount, passing even the buffer and delivering a...
I can confirm what others have said. No brake dust on the standard brakes. I had a BMW with ceramic that was dusty five minutes after you cleaned it. This is nothing like that.
I think it is a combination of the regen braking and (in my case) aero wheels which probably keep what dust there...
Many people have had variations on this problem. My problem was at the Porsche ID login. Most people seem to work it out eventually with lots of interactions and trying from different places and at different times. Wish I had a solution, but the best I can offer is encouragement that you...
I dropped my phone and the camera isn’t working. But when you peer very closely, you can see that the PPF ends at the edge of the brake light in the place where the OP showed a gap. So there is a seam in that sense. But on mine it is tiny compared to the one photographed and invisible except...
I had this problem as well. It was when I first used the close and lock button. I no longer have the problem. The only guess I have is that the closing sensor saw me too close to the car and stopped. When I push it and walk away it closes and locks withou fail.
To add to Louv’s point on...
No doubt.
Perhaps his Taycan is the one he wants to drive. Will any of us say he’s wrong? :)
It’s a wild extravagance. But you asked why, and there it is. If you meant ‘he shouldn’t,’ I just can’t agree. Louv pioneered the Taycan Grand Tour and now someone may pioneer at-home Taycan DC...
Because he wants to be able to make more than one hundred mile trip in a day and spend the time in between in the comfort of his home, not a parking lot. :)
I echo what others have said. My range estimate is usually 250+. I make no effort to drive slowly most of the time, often driving 70-80. However, I’ve never used launch control. I have no interest in calculating kilowatt hours. The car is a blast to drive and the range is much better than...
