The new Taycan already has this actually. It shows the currently maximum charge rate of the car, what the charger outputs, the optimal temperature range of the battery and the current temperature.
I think Range mode still has the capability of reducing max speed, but chooses not to because of the increased range. If you try navigating to somewhere very remote, far away from a charger, I think it will reduce the max speed if needed.
This is hardly a standardised test so I don’t think these are numbers that can be straight up compared like that. Obviously, since the new Taycan has an almost 16% larger usable battery (97 kWh vs 83.7 kWh) one should the very least be getting that.
In a more apple to apple comparison, going...
I think the regen setting is now global between all drive modes. Whatever you set it to stays permanently even when you switch modes or restart the car. As far I can tell, you should be able to disable regen in the drive mode settings. There’s a small menu button in the lower right corner that...
No, but it does of course have AVAS that turns on when driving below (I think) 30 km/h. It’s obviously not the same thing, though, as it is a safety feature above all else. Otherwise, probably the closest thing you have is binding one of the shortcut buttons to sport sound toggling.
One notable thing that I saw in a different article about the project is that the Taycan apparently already has a dedicated space for future wireless charging which is why they chose that car specifically.
I doubt that it’s anything that is ever going to be available for any existing cars, but...
I think the criticism of the new front has been way overblown. Yeah, I too prefer the old teardrops if nothing else because of how iconic they were for the Taycan and Mission E, but the standard Taycan is still obviously a very attractive looking car.
I would love to see some photos of the...
Another nice thing that might be worth mentioning is that the system is also always active even if you don’t have the camera view selected in the dash. The camera view is nice, but I think the main feature for me is that it automatically flares up and highlights any potential dangers.
I don’t...
I don’t think it raises the car any higher than lift mode, but I’ll have to check. Either way, it’s still a pretty low car even when lifted.
Like I mentioned, the only way to activate lift mode is from inside the car. Thus, it can technically be used to help passengers get into the car, but it...
Active Ride easy entry is quite different from lift mode. Lift can somewhat be used for this purpose, but it isn’t really designed for it.
Most obvious, it’s much faster. Lift will take several seconds to reach full height while Active Ride is effectively instant. It also activates...
I’m pretty certain that it should save it. It definitely does for MY25, but also for my MY22 I had set the individual mode to essentially be Sport Plus without sport sound.
Are we really talking about the same thing, though? The MY25 has much better efficiency than the previous version. With my MY22, I typically saw numbers close to what you’re mentioning for steady road trips, but the MY25 is in a different league. You would need to push it really hard to get an...
Seems like they’re in true Porsche fashion sandbagging the EPA numbers again. 261 miles/420 km on the Turbo S Cross Turismo is far lower than what I’m getting. It assumes that you‘re using about 23 kWh/100km which is albeit not impossible, but very high.
I don't know whether they offer different services in different regions, but as far as I know, there's no Youtube player for the Taycan. You can watch Netflix, Max, Prime Video and a few other services through the ScreenHits app, but not Youtube.
Honestly, I think Porsche should just straight up remove the power button, specifically because it leads to confusion like this. It's mostly just a remnant from the legacy gas powered cars where you physically turn off an engine, but for an EV it serves very little purpose.
Also, to be very...
Video is only available while stationary or on the passenger screen if you have that specced. It also only works while the car is connected to WiFi, typically by tethering to your phone.
All this should however be described on the screen when you launch the app, so if you’re getting a blank...
