I think the photo I tried to attach yesterday was too big so it failed.
Here now, is a picture of the (factory fitted) part after it fell out of my Taycan.
You can see it says VW AG Germany before the part number; it is not Porsche specific.
My DC flap fell out a couple of months ago. I didn't think it was broken but waited for a dealer check as the car was getting the new brake hoses the following week.
I was also told that if it was broken, it would need a whole new unit.
I don't believe that my Thule 720400 feet with the Thule wing bars pull the rails together. I bought my bars last year, the current Thule recommendation seems to be 720600 feet.
Neither are fixed to the bars, they are sprung and slide.
They don't slide easily as the feet are tightened, or ar...
As you say, it's a big car. CT is wider and longer than a Volvo XC90, so make sure it will fit in your garage.
On Scottish B roads the width makes electric folding mirrors an essential for me.
Trying to park in smallish bays without the (sadly not that great) surround camera is also horrible...
At 18mins in this review - it cost c £1500 to be retrofitted, due mainly to 7 hours of labour. Ouch.
This chap is a big fan but not all owners are.
After 18 months of quiet I couldn't bear having it on in the loaner I had last month.
Enjoy your new Taycan.
I agree with you about paying to unlock functionality of hardware after purchase.
If you change your mind, Active Lane Keeping may still be available via Function on demand. It is for my '23 in the UK, what is no longer available for me is the free trial period before purchase.
It's a pain to...
Ramps are an interesting thought but, as you probably realise, a crazy one.
If you back in, even a CT in 'lift' would only need 2.5 feet of door left open to clear the badge (just).
Maybe consider securing the door part-way open if you can minimise the security limitations and the risk of...
I checked. Compare the Market - SAGA quote £1919, 10K miles, £800xs. More than double my current insurer, Admiral.
Maybe your quote misplaced the decimal point...
I have the same. I e-mailed Porsche uk yesterday morning, no reply as yet.
I needed an Ionity charge yesterday afternoon, plug and charge worked perfectly.
I was invoiced at the 'classic' rate, 0.30 per kwh, no per minute charge.
I stopped wondering if I should have it when sales of GAP insurance were suspended here recently. UK policies were not providing fair value.
'only 6% of the amount customers pay in premiums for GAP insurance is paid out in claims'...
Last but not least.
Base (adequately base-y) stereo.
There is part of the shaped holder for the supplied charger visible. I've never used it and just realised it's not fixed and is easily removed.
I have not seen it published either so I asked Porsche UK and this is what they sent me.
I'm not sure if it was the card or plug and charge that worked for me at Ionity but at Fastned I could not get the card to work but it started easily from the Porsche app.
ESB did not work for me but it was...
My previous post's photo shows the little steering wheel (next to the green 20) greyed out. ALK is on but not active as it has no lane markings to follow.
Here is a picture of an American car with the green lane tracking confirmation I don't ever see.
