In the old days it was an emergency brake and putting a car in PARK often inserted something in
the transmission, separate from the parking brake.
So what happens if driving at 50mph you push the parking brake button? Nothing, full anti-lock braking, some increasing braking algorithm?
I...
Even more sad, they didn't fix this in 3 model years, my 2022 has the same lousy design as my
2020 had. Please don't blame a SW engineer, I'm sure I would have done a better mechanical
design. My guess is this was designed by comittee is such a poor design... I also have
stopped using the...
I forgot to mention, the new Plug and Charge feature is very nice! This was not available in
the 2020 model. Although the EA stations still seem to be problematic more often than they should, not a Porsche problem.
Yes I'm sorry. I was talking about ADCC plus Lane Keeping Assist. Porsche is kind of confusing what ALK and LKA are bundled with... I'm not even sure how ALK and LKA are different?
Excellent list. I would add following for My Porsche APP
* allow me to add local electricity rates so the app calculates both how much $ I spend charging at home, as well how much I am saving when using EA chargers.
* Lock/Unlock works oddly. I would also like to be able to configure that if...
Not a solution IMHO, still button pushes. Sadly the SW doesn't store enough configuration data. By
default it should come up to the last things the car was setup for (and this should be different for each driver/fob). Not only radio but driving mode, chassis height, sport sound, recuperation etc.
I'm not sure, probably easier to find that answer online or go to the dealer to sit in both.
My family is average/short, so my 18yo, 21yo and parents in law didn't complain about headroom
in the back of the glass roof car. My kids didn't notice that it felt smaller with the solid roof (psych...
Now I understand. Most chargers are 800V DC so it is no problem charging up. If they are a
400V DC based system it will just charge slower. I charge at home and at EA stations. I believe
ALL EA DV fast chargers in my area are 800V DC, thus don't need the DC/DC converter.
"800 V charging is...
First off I drive 95% of the time using cruise control in all my cars, I have for several decades.
The ACC in the Taycan is very nice, buy it! I found the innodrive actually unsafe. For example
it would slow down in what it thought was school zones, often out of an area where people
even...
I live in San Diego, sunny most of the time. I don't like the sun on my head. Note, I don't like convertibles either. I asked my kids if the glass roof made it nicer in the back seat, they said NO.
Really a personal choice and it didn't hurt that I saved money etc. 2020 the glass roof was...
A slight edit to above
Seemingly no range improvement. Wasn’t really expecting anything large but was hoping for a minor improvement. The Monroney for the two does show a marked improvement in range, not sure if it is real or not. 2020 68/71/49; 2022 77/75/44
As requested my observed differences between the two cars. I don’t have the 2020 anymore, so these are “by memory”. List is not in any particular order. My wife likely would not notice a single thing in my list ?
This car is quieter, I assume the upgraded sound insolated glass helps this...
I have this on my new 2022 Taycan 4S, very slight noise, I can only hear when I am going 30-40mph. on the driver side, but I haven't had a passenger listen...
My 2020 I bought off the lot, they had configured it. So I made quite a few changes in configurator after driving it for 10 months.
2021-12-23 received new 2022 Taycan 4S. Are people interested in my observances of the difference between my 2020 and 2022?

I've had various problems, at the dealer now for some of these:
- walk up to car unlock works fair (fob battery changed, no affect)
- I can only get foot/hand kick/wave to open trunk/frunk about 10% of time, absolutely useless.
- touch on handles for lock works %75 time, sometimes have to do it...
One common problem with garage door operators is RF interference. For example I have LED bulbs installed in my GDO (and in my garage lights). These caused the open/close function to operate intermittently. I bought special LED bulbs, specifically for GDO with RF filters. Works great now!
