I have to agree. I've had zero issues with my car or its software other than very minor ones that have been fixed with updates. I too use Apple CarPlay extensively in all of my vehicles, it gives me a consistent interface.

I read it as a presentation on how to optimize charging. On one slide it says to charge, at home, overnight to have a maximum charge when departing the next morning.
I mean the title of the article is "Ideal Charging" after all. When I read it with that context it makes perfect sense, at least...
It depends. If you have the upgraded on-board 19.2 kW AC charger option then I personally believe the Porsche Wall Charger Connect is a good choice. It will work at lower charge rates but is a fairly expensive option. I've been using mine for 18 months now without any issues. It does require a...
I have no doubt that the metrics collected by Porsche include how many people connect to their car with iOS versus Android.
As for the US stats, well, we are both in the US so I felt that was a relevant statistic. No offense to my foreign Porsche brethren but I tend to focus on the conditions...
Not in the US: Tech Republic
iOS: 62.13%
Android: 37.47%
And, according to Porsche not among Porsche owners. But I don't think that is why they aren't supporting the advanced features on Android that they plan on supporting for CarPlay. If I'm reading the article right Google does not provide...
I'm very pleased that Porsche did not go down the Google Android Auto path. My experiences with Android phones, well really Google in general, have been less than satisfactory. Should Google choose to provide a SDK, as Apple did, I'm sure Porsche would consider providing the same integrations...
Your money so do what will make you happy without losing track of the future. Finding that balance is the real challenge.
I was lucky, I spent 20 years in the Armed Forces and, except for a couple of assignments, it was mostly party time, scuba diving, sky diving, rappelling, fishing, you get...
If you just updated your iPhone to iOS 17 the update may have modified some of your settings (set them back to default) it did that to my Safari extensions. That error simply looks like your iPhone doesn't have an internet connection, which really has nothing to do directly with CarPlay or your...
With the possible exception of joy riding newer cars are the least stolen according to any statistic I've seen over the years. Older cars that can be easily carved up so their parts can be sold seem to be the most common thefts. NCIB HotWheels report with Trucks topping the list.
Heck, one of...
I get lots of looks since, a year later, I still haven't seen another Taycan where I live. Of course, when I'm driving onto the local Army post I've also received a lot of positive comments, then some puzzled looks as they try to figure out how a retired NCO could afford a Porsche ;) A few times...
I plug mine into the USB port and put it in the center console. It never leaves there until I'm done driving. I do have wireless charging turned off.
I'm an older fellow as well, mid 70s, but I freely admit I'm a geek. I love using voice commands to answer/make calls when necessary, select...
Exactly right in my case. If I hadn't bought a Taycan I would have probably bought a 911 (and I may still do so at some point if I can talk my wife around;)). I did look at Tesla's but decided they simply were not something I was interested in buying, or driving on a regular basis.
I'm really...
See the above post, you can launch a number of apps from CarPlay. I also have an app for my garage door opener. I have two different door openers, when I approach the garage the one I'm closest to pops up in CarPlay so I can open and close those doors.
Siri also works, so say if I want to hear...
I agree, "no regrets" was my motto while specc'ing my Taycan. Do I have a ton of options that may, or may not, appeal to the next owner or add much to the resale value? Quite likely, but, to put it bluntly, screw them ;) When spending this much on a car I'm going to get exactly what I want and...
I don't have a 992 for comparison but my brakes feel fine after the initial break-in period. Both with regular and emergency stops. I haven't noticed any sponginess.
However, the brake feel has been different in every car I've ever owned and is just something I adjust to after a bit of driving.
