Thanks. Yes I did get that charger but it looked far more complex than the cable that I used with the Panamera rather than installing that system. In fact I read the instructions and didn’t understand them. Someone has told me they have a spare 42amp cable so think I’ll try that. Thanks.
Yes just double checked in the light and my Panamera cable is 20 amp rather than 32 amp and that seems to the reason for the slower charge. Basically I need a new cable. I see these are cheaper but are they any good? https://evconnectors.com/ev-plug-Porsche-Taycan-4-S-cable?product_id=394
I now think the answer may be that it is an old cable from the Panamera and some of them were limited to 3kw ......... I’ll ck tomorrow but thanks for help guys.
I think so but as the Panamera only charged to 20 miles it didn’t take long and I really don’t remember it showing 7.2 or 3.... not entirely sure. I will follow up with Chargemaster....now BP Pulse. Thanks all for comments

Thanks. Someone told me “When I’ve seen this before it’s been due to bizarre 3-phase 20A charging cables supplied with some German EVs (won’t charge at 7kW on single phase chargers).” But I used the same cable on Panamera without problems....
I have a Taycan 4S and Chargemaster unit installed in 2016 when I had a Panamera.
The receipt says Smart Homecharge 1. 7kw type 2 socket. 230v.
thanks.
Just to add a question to the thread I have a 5 yr old Chargemaster charger at home which I assumed was 7kw. I’m charging now but it says charging at 3.2kw which is incredibly slow and it says it won’t be charged until 10.07am tomorrow. Surely this is too slow. Any advice.
Thanks
I love my Taycan and was one of the first to get ‘green’ number plates in the uk which people seem to notice.
Ironically I visited a local Shell garage recently to buy a Sunday Times and the guy said ‘I haven’t seen you in here for a while.’ It really is quite a joy not to have to fill up with...
Hi, I did the transition from a 911 Carrera Sport to a Taycan 4S but I think what helped was I went via a Panamera hybrid sport.
This meant I was used to plugging in, used to four doors and indeed 4 proper seats. Hence the stepping stone helped.
Like others I do miss the sound, fresh air and...
Thanks. I thought I had selected sport mode via the control on the right of the right hand dash display. It says sport and if you touch again sport plus but I never got the launch control ping Etc. I will try putting into sport mode via the central console tomorrow and see if that works. Thanks.
I need some advice on Launch control please as a new 4S owner.
I have tried with adequate battery, decent temperature, put it into Sport, held down brake, press down accelerator, and let go. Yes it was quick but are you meant to wait until a Launch Control symbol is displayed on the dash? If so...
Yes will help me when I’m allowed to drive to Norwich matches.....
Thanks so mine should be activated. Do you uses a credit card also on IONITY or do you just get a bill from Porsche?
The next Gridserve location should be the Broadland Business Park east of Norwich. Planning permission is in the system so that might be usesful.
On a related point I received the Taycan Charging Card but am unclear if I have to do anything to activate it? Any advice?
Sorry to hear about these two cases which both appear to be in the UK in slight snow when parked on an incline. As a fellow UK Taycan owner I just wanted to check that the only way to engage the parking brake is to press the Park button? Is that the case?
