Overall, I’m tempted when my Taycan lease is up. A few oddities but, hey, it’s Porsche after all and I think it safe to say none of us have the faintest idea what they’re thinking at any given time. The Oak Green is rather lovely I must admit but I’d take the Papaya for £2k odd less I think...
That’s the one! A very nice facility, just far too close to home to be of use to me. The IONITY chargers are on the other side of the city at Cringleford and are on a windswept Shell forecourt with no weather protection. Often fairly flaky too, to add insult to injury.
Absolutely, I’ve found it almost seamless. I’m nearly at 40,000 miles now in just over 2 years and it, for me at least, just works. We’ve a 26 bay Gridserve 2 miles from us and an IONITY a little further away which are frustratingly of little use to me other than if the Ohme Home Pro decides to...
I don’t have the comfort access option but do have the folding mirrors. I note when I use the app to lock the car, the mirrors don’t fold automatically as they do when I use the key.
Mine was off-loaded from a delivery truck in a pub car park by my house on a wet October morning. No fault of the dealer, I should add, it was how the lease company had it sent to me. Was still childishly excited even so!
Years ago a friend invited me to a filming of Top Gear at Dunsfold. Whilst I fully accept Jeremy Clarkson is a divisive figure, his pre-filming warm-up where he mercilessly took the mickey out of anyone in the audience wearing manufacturer branded clothing was a work of comic perfection.
There...
Literally and figuratively, “your mileage may vary” is never truer than when this question is posed.
It really just comes down to your own use case, allied to the environmental factors that would pertain to where you live. As above with f1eng, my car came with the PB+ as standard so no choice...
As my car was sourced via a company salary-sacrifice scheme I really regret not getting the winter tyre set at the same time and taking advantage of the tax saving.
I’ve always had them on previous performance cars and the Taycan is undoubtedly skittish in low temperatures on summer 21” tyres...
Thank you, that’s much appreciated. I’ll be a little more careful in future! Mind you, I think the outdoor temperature is unlikely to be an issue round here for some time. ?
Oh, every day is a school day! I didn’t know that about Range mode after a fast charge. I’ve done 95% of my 38,000 miles on Ionity high-speed charges and have frequently left in Range mode. So far, seemingly no harm done but I’ll bear that in mind for future use. Thanks for the info!
I’ve hit 53c during an Ionity charge before. Brief appearance of the yellow turtle but by the time it hit the high 80s percentage-wise it had cooled down to mid 40s.
I freely admit that I was as surprised as you. I’d scoured around to try and find a replacement through the usual (and less so) third-party places and came up with, if not a blank, no real certainty that the part was correct for the car.
I asked him to confirm the price, I was that sure he’d...
Mine pinged off a few months ago on the M25. My car was fairly caked in road grime and had been parked for 72 hrs before driving off so I’d assumed in my case it had glued itself to the windscreen so that when the motor applied torque it stayed put initially and then when it gave way under the...
All a bit “wet finger in the air here” but assuming it goes at full pelt you’ll be being sent around 7kwh per hour but I’d wager some of this will be lost via charging losses in the system and potentially to heat in the battery also. At a guess, something in the order of 35kwh, perhaps, so...
My apologies, I wasn’t intending to come across as trying to teach you to suck eggs! It works very differently for me due to my choice of EVSE so the Ohme app handles it all on behalf of OI.
