No, Porsche Netherlands says it’s a product feature. Read the beginning of this thread and why I started it (after the other one: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/deep-hum-between-50-70-km-u-16-23-mph.11825/post-177907)
So no warranty Adrian. And trust me, it is a problem.
Hi Max, to my knowledge the problem only occurs with the RWD cars. But I’m not 100 % sure, maybe after more km (mine started at about 5k) it could happen with the all wheel driven too. And not alle RWD‘s have this problem…
Perhaps try at least one other CT4 with comparable kilometers and listen...
Thanks! I think that’s just the motivation I need to have it installed. The fact that you can choose and that it then adds something and on other occasions explicit not, is just fine. Perfect way of describing it submatrix!
Thanks Omar for your quick reaction, good to hear that it’s programmable. Then the Sport Sound could be an option for me. I know it’s subjective, but what’s your user experience of the sound?
Hello! I’ve recently posted two threads about the the deep humming at 50-65 km/h in my RWD 2022. Only in first gear, in the range mode it is not there. The recent update didn’t improve this and Porsche keeps saying this is a product feature and not - as I think - a product failure. A recent...
I recognize this lost of range. First time it happened the car showed 84% - 406 km. After 5 km. of easy driving the display showed 82% - 330 km. This was short after the update.
Since then it hasn’t been so extreme, but the car isn’t by far as economical as before the update. Friday I will...
Great car, great looks, superb driving (even after a number of BMW 7) but to call the humming at 50-70 km/h a “product feature” as I wrote in my thread, is wrong and disappointing. No apology! It‘s there on every ride and it shouldn’t be.
After the update my ALK is not better then before. On a straight line it still bounces between the lines and doesn’t drive as good as should be expected. In the corners ALK performs better than in a straight line. I’m in the third month of the free period, but I’m not going to buy it.
The same happened to me. Indeed complete strip, repaint, diamond cut and lacquer. As new. Your £ 96 is cheap. My dealer asked € 399 but split the amount because my right mirror didn’t go in the parking position.
@ Adrian: with this repair it looks as if nothing has happened.
Wise words! Not easy however, but the car is worth it. In three weeks we are ging to Austria too. Your experience is a recommendation for some testing there. With the Bose off ?
That’s good news for you! I see you have 4 MY 2021. The update delivers an improvement for MY 2020 and 2021 for the power train as shown here:
• Increase in power train efficiency to increase range through improved all-wheel drive distribution (4WD only)
• Acoustic optimization of power train...
I guess that sensors were placed at several places in the interior of the car. My dealer told me that one sensor was placed on the headrest to measure the sound where you experience it the most. I have no idea how such a 3D analysis looks like, my dealer will show me the next time I visit them.
Thanks John for your reaction. The sound I hear differs from this. It’s much deeper and much more humming. I’m going to read the Audi comments. But for now, it’s not the suspension that I hear but the gearbox, and more specific the first gear that makes the deep humming sound.
From what I hear...
Hi LXA, What a shame to hear that after replacing the drivetrain the problem is back. I wrote in my thread that at least in your case the right solution was made by replacing the drive, and now this.
The technician of Porsche Netherlands also told the dealer that the humming sound in first gear...
Ok David, hopefully you’ll find a listening ear. Maybe for extra information my thread from today? https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/part-2-deep-hum-50-70-km-h-and-why-we-should-notify-porsche-ag.12368/
Thanks Dee, my car had when delivered already the colored icons so a recent software version. Last Monday the car got the big update at the dealer and will be brought back tomorrow. The first thing I’ll do is check whether I notice a difference. I’ll let you know.
Recently I posted this thread and promised an update:

Last week my car was examined by Porsche Netherlands after the dealer tried to synchronize the gearbox. The technician from Porsche Netherlands...
