Hello David,
Only just now I your thread and the first thing I thought of is the complaint I have in my car.
I started a thread: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/deep-hum-between-50-70-km-u-16-23-mph.11825/post-177907
My suggestion is that the bass you describe comes from the...
With my car (also Dutch) it took almost three week before I could activate ALK. Just in time for a vacation to the south of France. My free period of three months ends September 1. Hesitating to continue, the corners are mostly fine but in a straight line the car bounces a bit between the lines.
Maybe there is a resemblance with the thread I started and the answers forum members gave me? In my car the humming isn’t there in the range mode, so that’s a difference…

Het lijkt er inderdaad op Ambroos dat we oververtegenwoordigd zijn ?
So with your car also at 100 km/h. Obvious the same complaint and the same cause: the gearbox‘s first gear. We’ll keep each other informed about the official reaction. I have sent the mails to my dealer, also the one from...
I don’t have sport chrono, but maybe I can configurate the heigh of the car. I’ll look into it today.
I also recognize a certain scepsis at the dealer, because it are mostly the problems that are discussed on the forum. This forum is an exeption because members also are often very enthusiastic...
Thanks LXA, that’s an impressive picture… seems like I’m not the only one, as Ambrose wrote and your message shows. Still haven’t heard from Porsche Netherlands, so I’ll sent both messages to my dealer.
Porsche should be aware of the problem. In the meantime it sucks because the noise starts at...
Thank you all for your reactions! The strange thing is that the wireless charger works when I hold the IPhone against it. There is no clip to put it in. I could use a sponge ? in the console to keep it in place, after all it’s just a 120 K car ?
In my 2022 Taycan ST there is no telephone holder in de middle console, like there is in this picture from YouTube. Has this part been canceled in the 2022 models? I read on the forum that the phone is overheated when putting it there, but now I can’t even try that and have to use a wire to load it.
Thanks Hakon. I read that you car does it in every drive mode, mine not when in range mode. Another difference is that it happens in my car immediately when I drive 50 km/h, not after 10-15 minutes. It’s always there. The ‘wavepool’ sound that I hear at 100 km/h does no disappear in range mode...
I visited my Porsche dealer this week and luckily they heard the humming sounds too. On the way to the dealer there was another disturbing noise at 100-115 km/h. Sounds a bit like a wavepool…
The dealer confirmed my diagnosis that it’s probably the gearbox. They tried to recalibrate it, but no...
Don’t think so. My guess is that it’s in the gearbox itself. The revs change when putting it in Range mode. I don’t know in which of the two gears it is in when in range mode, but the sound is different. And no more humming at 50 km/h.
An update: Today I tried different settings and found out something that might help. The humming is there in Normal and in Sport, but NOT in the Range mode ?
Does this sound familiar to anyone? Is Range mode in 1 or in 2 gear?
Thanks McgR for your reaction. When I see your photo, we have the same wheels and tires, also Michelin. From what I read, you don’t have the problem at lower speeds. If it varies with the country you’re driving, I would als think the sound comes from the tires. My Michelins are relatively new...
Since a few days my Taycan ST RWD (May 2022 - 5500 km) produces a deep hum while driving, that I haven’t heard before. Irritating because in towns that‘s often the mandatory speedlimit. I always drive in the setting Normal so nothing has been changed in de the settings. My Taycan has the 20”...
That’s a good one Adrian, I didn’t take the destination charger with me in France and that surely would have helped. Have to buy a strong enough travel plug.
