I used the porsche one as my primary charger and even though I had some issues originally (burned my plug), I continued to use it without any major issue.
I had it with a bracket that attached to the windshield. It was a little tricky, but once installed, I didn't have any issues with it. I can find the bracket and hard wire kit I used if it's useful for anyone. I have 2 of these R7's currently, and both I got on sale for ~$400, so this is a great...
My favorite radar detector is on sale today btw. This is the lowest price I remember seeing it, $379. This is the R7 with the arrows. I had this hard-wired into my Taycan and it worked super well. Amazon also has the hard-wiring kit for them and it's a fairly easy job going from the driver side...
As a daily driver, I actually like the G more. It has more useful features - the massage & bolsters you mentioned. The dynamic cruise control is very good (I never had that on my Taycan). The sound system sounds better then the BOSE on the Taycan. It's definitely not as "sport" and if you're...
Thank you! For me, the G580 was sort of a combo of a G63 + Taycan. 2025's have touchscreen/MBUX and lots of other new goodies (including dynamic multi contour seats that harden up the bolsters based on the direction the car is leaning into). I'll do a full review on the G580 after like a month...
Depends on the SUV - for the G Class: "EuroNCAP gave the G-Class a full five-star overall rating". But yes, I agree. I was able to handle high-speed maneuvers a lot better in my sedans vs. SUVs.
The G for sure is a TANK. Feels very safe inside of it, but for sure would cause a lot of damage to anything it hits (given the height and crazy weight of the G580).
Just sharing if it's useful for anyone - it's not the best charger, but as a backup/travel one, it's not bad and Anker is a good brand. Just $140 for BF/CM:

2025 LWB RR (3 row). Just arrived last month. My wife loves the RR, hates the G-Wagon, go figure. She was always a Mercedes girl. I like the G-Wagon a lot more - feels more sporty to me.
Best thing about car choices is they aren't for life lol. I'll let you know after a few months of ownership, but worst case, I can always change things up. I did really like the Taycan - one of the best cars I've ever owned (if not the-best).
As a daily driver, for my requirements, they actually have more in common then you'd think. And of course but EV, both 5-passenger, and an almost identical MSRP (if you're buying them new right now). :)
I'm not a SUV person AT ALL. And really didn't like the 2024 G63. The '25 technology update + the G580 being an EV, makes a HUGE difference, for me at least. The scores were of course biased towards my tastes (and it unfairly gave the G a high offroad score). Overall - for me - the cars are very...
EQ's are going away btw - that entire model line. They will now be integrated into the regular model lines - thus the EV G-Wagon is an G580e, not a EQG.
