Check the trade in value, add 5%, make that offer.
Manufacturers cannot give these away right now. The discount you are mentioning sounds terrible. I got $22,000 off on a brand new 2024 CT 4 that listed at $134,000, in January.
Re: 30 minute charging sessions.
Dealer told me there is a 15 minute grace period, so you can get almost 45 minutes before they hit your CC.
If it is one of the 150 ones, I can take on a lot of power in that time.
I’ve been really happy with EA experience locally. Sometimes they are full, but it hasn’t been much of a problem.
The other day I went about 50 miles away to an appointment, and was early. I had several stops to make before heading home so I took a sip at an EA location.
It was one of the 150kw...
My success has been 2 for 3. Not a fan of the brand (EA). One thing I don’t like is the machines have 2 cables coming out of them, but only 1 can be used, at least the locations I’ve used. If only 1 is usable, why have 2?
It was a great deal, but this is slippery. One way or the other you are getting hosed. (And I willingly went along.)
Although the money factor was competitive, the residual on a 39/12 was 52%!
I commented on that to the finance guy, and he said if I were leasing a Macan (ice) it would be 65%...
Mine was a lease. Porsche Princeton. Porsche gave $12,500, requiring dealer to chip in another $5,000. Then they also paid up to $4,500 for remaining lease payments.
Rear passenger space will be much less than you are used to. If that isn’t important then I think it would be a good move.
Two dealers have told me they cannot give EV’s away, and there is tons of conversation on here about value dropping like a stone, so if nothing else, keep that in mind if...
You don’t need Porsche involved, for recommendations or hardware.
I’m in USA so don’t know what companies make a good charger in Australia, but it won’t be hard to find out. Get the hardwired version (vs plug in) and have your electrician do it. I paid $550 for the charger, and $800 for labor...
Surprised you had to point this out to Propo on a Porsche forum, but I get that it needed correcting.
Well known that GTS always get the secret sauce. Unique components and settings that prevent trying to option other models exactly the same. Otherwise there would be no reason to get GTS...
Easy-get yourself a 2x2 or 2x4 pc of 3/4” plywood(these come precut at the box stores), screw it to the studs, and then mount anyplace you want on that new surface.
If aesthetics are important, use a router to round over the edges, and slap 2 coats of semigloss on it.
I bought a 2024 CT4 a month ago for $20,000+/- off list. Porsche was putting in most of that, dealer doing $5,000.
When I commented to the finance guy how horrible the residual was (52% Taycan on a 39/39, vs Macan 64%, same term), he replied "We can't give these EV away'.
I think for a car...
I don’t share your characterization of it as EV haters, but maybe you saw things which I did not.
Kyle Connor from Out of Spec did a really balanced video about the weather as well as other things affecting charging, and he is a super proponent of EV’s.
This isn’t made up. There are real...
