Interesting, in the German forum people said it was different, more like in other cars: short for 1 kph, long hold for 10 kph. ? I think it was like that in the pre facelift I had for a weekend, but I can't say for sure.
Different: you can increase the ACC speed by 10 kph by pushing the stalk into a second position beyond the first one. Makes for faster adjustment. Holding it in the first position will gradually change the speed in 1 kph steps.
Is it better? I quite like it.
Good. The ACC is now settable down to 20 kph instead of 30 kph. We have quite a few 20 kph zones and I find manual slow speed driving to be very annoying, so that's really nice.
I only have the German manual, I'll try a translation:
Settings -> Assistance systems (ADAS) -> Speed warning -> Speed limit for warning -> With Tolerances
This is remembered, fixed 5 kph or 10 kph get reset.
This will allow for up to 5 kph overspeed.
My experience so far:
Up to 50 kph: 2...
Good. It has a dedicated next song button. You can have the diamond as last song, to get almost equal features as in my previous cheep cars. (The lack of steering wheel buttons is really hurting me, just for a sleek design...)
Good. It has a colour wheel for ambient light.
Bad. It probably...
5 % losses is pretty good.
On DC chargers I'm seeing like 10 % (difference between BC consumption and calculated consumption)
But of course the AC is working hard to maintain temperature there.
In the Taycan you can set it to "with tolerances" which will make it beep later.
This is saved between drives.
For me that's usually acceptable enough. It's closer to GPS speed then, but I'd have to do a measurement to verify that.
I set my buttons to show surround view and play last track...
If you don't hate the intelligent speed assistant per se and turn it off every time, you can set it to "with tolerances" - which is remembered between drives, and that is the good thing.
This will give you some wiggle room before the warning comes on. For example at 53,1 kph instead of 50,1...
You don't need to have a drive shaft to the front wheels and thus you can increase the steering angle?
I'm an mechatronics engineer working for software development, don't ask me about mechanics ?
But I just checked and that's not true according to the configurator, so scrap that. I probably...
Edit, this is a false assumption:
I think the RWD has a smaller turning circle which is comparable to the turning circle of the all wheel drive with RWS.
With that it would be a nice to have but not a mandatory feature for me.
Edit:
And with that the conclusion for me would be RWS is...
Active ride is always active. It only switches to different working modes between normal and sport/sport+.
In sport it will keep the car as flat as possible in order to get the best lap times out of it. It's like an advanced PDCC.
Only in normal will it overcompensate (which you can also turn...
I'll have a second look, but I think I chose a nice green colour on a colour wheel. Sorry, still getting used to my car, didn't seem noteworthy enough to be bright in my memory. Only after I saw this post I realized that this is new.
The big fat tires and suspension must go somewhere.
I'd immediately trade 8 cm of width in the cargo for thinner rear tires.
Of course some performance would be lost, but I don't really need it anyway. The space is needed more often.
But well... The Taycan is still quite practical.
