Interesting. My driver's side mechanism was replaced (wouldn't open) after an extended delay waiting for parts (I had a loaner for about two weeks), but they didn't indicate there was a new version. Hopefully this is a new one that works long term...
This is how you delete paired phones from the Device Manager, too, and it's kinda crazy - you have to swipe the "cell" and not the "line" (and if you hold too long it won't work).
Bad, easily fixed if they find the "time".
Hey, @evanevery - I don't know if you've answered this before, and I haven't tried it, but...what happens if you connect a mouse with a scroll wheel to one of the USBs port in the car?
One warning about the mirrors: if you have Innodrive or 360-view, the car has to go through the alignment process if the mirrors are removed, or you'll get faults.
It definitely doesn't automatically update the firmware. You may need to reconnect via BT first...or unplug and plug in the dongle again.
Note, too, that sometimes (if you've used a different phone, as @KensingtonPark indicated) you have to reselect the device in Device Manager.
My car is currently in service because the driver's side door stopped working. Passenger's side works (although it's been a bit weird and balky). Definitely isn't an issue of freezing, it was diagnosed as busted and they do need to replace parts, which are going to take a while to come in...
Had the same thing a few days ago. Noted that tapping the audio system tab (BOSE/Burmester) would just bring up a spinner, so it's clear that one of the subsystems never came up.
Oh, geez, is that where the instructions are? The rack itself came with nothing, and I was going by the sticker on the bars. (Don't even ask how long it took me to find the little key pouch....)
I've had big problems getting my rack to actually work. While the bars go onto the mounting brackets, the bolt won't actually engage the threads in the bracket. Any tips?
(I've verified I'm using the right bars in the right location, oriented the right way; I can usually get one side or the...
Indeed, I found the installation instructions and firmware links here: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/carplay-adapter-to-convert-to-wireless-carplay.2193978/
Thanks, updated and I'm happy to say it actually works.
I had a chassis system failure that ended up being a pinched air hose; took some time to diagnose, and was repaired by locating the pinch by pushing solder up the line, measuring, cutting into the main wiring harness (the hose is bundled in there), fixing it and buttoning things up...
Unless I'm misinterpreting what you mean by "overwrite a manufacturer's own software", CarPlay doesn't really do that. The PCM build contains the CarPlay client. Nothing is overwritten. The only thing that happens is that CarPlay can display, in a window, in PCM and get inputs from the controls...
I did have a problem at the Burlington EA station on Saturday, and wasn't able to charge at any of the three chargers. I'm not convinced my car wasn't in a weird state, though. The errors I got were either SHUTDOWN_INITIATED_BY_TOWER or COMMUNICATION_FAILED, neither of which is terribly helpful...
