If you read my post and subsequent ones at the beginning of this thread, a couple things have been verified by numerous drivers.
1. There is extreme wear at the shoulder of the tire down to the cord, and there is NORMAL treadwear.
2. This is not an alignment problem. NORMAL treadwear and I...
Latest update is that after 3 weeks of calls, emails texts and personal visits by me, the State Farm claims agent has denied my claim. He never spoke with me, and claimed to have spoken to the tech about the rotor life, which the tech denies. The agent stated that 'the useful life of the...
Couldn't agree more! The 2020-2024 Taycan is true to the mission E concept, and continues to be one of the most beautiful cars on the road. I still get comments on it pretty much every week about how beautiful the car is.
The Audi has a beautiful interior, except for the silly afterthought...
The update is that State Farm will not cover the rotor. I’ve contacted an attorney and will construct a letter outlining their ‘bad faith’ behavior. It’s taken me three weeks to get an adjuster to look at the car, and he went to the dealer and claimed he spoke to the technician. The reason...
Another vote here for Rear Axle Steering (RAS). I originally bought it because I wanted all the performance upgrades, but this is not my primary reason for recommending. I appreciate it almost every day when I'm manuvering in a parking lot or making a u-turn in a residential street. The...
I don't think your mileage estimates are due to the software, since they are very similar to what others have reported without the software. I regularly get 280 - 300 mi. range (range setting) on my guess-o-meter, and in the summer show regular stints over 3.0 mi/kWh in regular mode.
Pictures of my damaged brake rotor. The shop believes something impacted the rotor and caused the large chip. Anyone seen anything like this?
Replacement takes 3 weeks due to ordering the part from Germany. Cost of a single rotor replacement...
Wait for it...
$9,000. o_O
I wish they would spend this money and resources on making the existing platform better. Chasing after the competition where Porsche feels compelled to be the 'king of the hill' with a ridiculously modified track car that nobody will enjoy as a practical daily driver on the public roads is just...
If you drive 'aggressively' in any car, people think you're an a**hole. If you drive aggressively in a Porsche, people think you're a Porsche a**hole. I will also point out that you can drive a lot more 'aggressively' in a Porsche than most cars - hence a Porsche driver is probably considered...
I have to agree that Porsche loses a big part of it's appeal compared to other brands in the EV world because of the lack of an ICE. For a sportscar, other than a supercar like a Ferrari or Lambo, the Porsche has the best sound and feel of any car on the planet. Engine, steering, brakes...
The EA cables are the worst. I tried the GM EV stations this last trip and they were quite a bit easier to handle. Same output, with two cables per station and the amazing thing about the stations was that BOTH CABLES could be used to charge TWO SEPARATE CARS...wait for it... AT THE SAME...
The number I'm most concerned with is mileage on long hwy trips at 70mph. For me, this has been confirmed on a number of trips at 2.8mi/kWh. This gives a range at 100% of about 230 miles. Temp is around 60 deg F. SOH is 95%. Much colder will give a bit less, much warmer a bit more.
For my last three cars, I've been fortunate enough to be able to pay cash upfront for each new car that I ordered. I've driven each car (will drive the Taycan) for 7 years and 100K miles under extended warrantee. From an economic standpoint, I've paid list price, and certainly suffered huge...
My brakes make a godawful noise when driven in heavy rain. Probably due to a 'buildup' of crap (technical term) on the brake discs. Running through the procedure below solves the noise problem for me. If this procedure doesn't do anything, then you have another problem.
I would expand on...
This is a best-case guess on Porsche's part. Given their history of missing deadlines on this I don't believe we'll see anything in Q3 and possibly 2025.
