My recommendation is that you recognize that a warranty is essentially an insurance policy and that if it’s price right it can save you a lot of money. What you don’t want to be doing is driving around in a car without insurance and it is no difference when looking at repair costs on a Taycan...
So here’s how I’m seeing this thread at this point.
You posted on a different thread that you are outside of warranty, making purchase of an extended warranty now an expensive affair. You even worry about the cost of repairs and if you should keep the car.
You are now trying to make yourself...
Going naked is a poor choice when the alternative is a reasonable expense (this is a 6 figure car after all).
I purchased the PFS EV PLAT VSC IN WARRANTY - 48mo/60k $250 Deductible for $4776 plus sales tax from the local Porsche dealer, and at that price it will pay for itself with one major...
The intent of the letter is to simply tell all Taycan owners that the software fix is now available and that it can be applied to their car. (As lawyers like to say, this is one of those “out of abundance of caution” letters..)
if you check your VIN on the https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls website...
I don’t think this is all that complicated. The earlier ARB6/ARB7 recalls in November last year told us that they were going to create new software to better monitor the high-voltage battery. They even said that we could download it sometime in the first quarter. They were late, but the OTA...
@whitex -- Just want to say "Thanks!" for sharing some of your personal driving story. I find your journey from a Toyota MR2 to a Porsche 911C4 to the later cars mirrors part of my journey. My first car was a Triumph TR250. God I loved that car - 4 speeds, huge tires, convertible, dances on...
Here is a link to the charger that you’re thinking of @whitex. Not unreasonably priced either for what it does.

I think there were 11 of us there overall, including two who brought their families. Bonus points to @Sar who broke his collarbone and came anyway, also in a loaner Taycan.
I forgot to take pictures of the entire group, but I did take a few pictures of the cars lined up and of the small group...
For those looking to optimize their battery health and range, here are a couple of suggestions --
ARB6 Update -- I've noticed a large improvement in range since this update. I'm now at 3.2-4 miles/kW, and I used to be a tad under 3 miles/kW.
Battery Cell Balancing -- Follow the steps...

Improved mileage and overall capacity seems to be the case for me.
Took a trip yesterday up to the Cascade Loop Highway and did some hiking. Round-trip mileage was 153 and I averaged 3.6 mi./kW. During some highway stretches I was getting 4.5 mile/kW.
