Not sure the sales manager won the battle as they are not discounting this car, at least for the first year. That story about holding your money was to make you feel better after he declined giving you a discount. Also, I am not sure where you were on the list so unless you were one of the top...
as stated in this section, if you are tracking your car, rear wheel steering would be good, but I guarantee that 98% of the people buying the Taycan whether it is the Turbo, Turbo S, 4S or base will be driving it on the street and it will be money wasted. Think about before all these extra...
I did not state that, I stated “Better engineers” and I should add... only focused on BEV’s that have produced more advanced battery technology. Tesla has been at this for 15+ years.
But, do I only buy Tesla, No. I can appreciate a good design and a superior interior and that is what I like...
Could not have said this better myself. This is truth. However, you forgot to mention $6 billion invested and 50 years of Engineering excellence. And, yes, I am buying one as well...but my money will only go as far as the Taycan 4S. If only there were another EV car company that had smarter...
Either people that are complaining about Tesla on this forum bought Tesla in the upper $300 and are quite upset that they are upside down on their trade, or, they are just Porsche fanboys....or you do not let real facts get in the way of your opinions. To start, Porsche clearly showed a...
David, Good comments. I had not thought of the 911 vs. Corvette comparison, but you maybe correct. People who love Porsche’s will continue to buy Porsche. The same for Tesla, with some people crossing over. I think it is good for EV’s and will grow the overall adoption of EV’s more rapidly...
Please see PanameraFranks last response. Both of us misunderstood him and he agreed with what I wrote and, what you wrote. I won’t go off on a rant, but I am still amazed at all of the Tesla haters out there. Give them props for putting out a car (never mind it is an EV) that competes with the...
Got it. I think we would have heard if ANY car manufacturer went to tesla and asked to join in. Musk would welcome this and I do think he would be reasonable. Musk wants the world to be full of EV vs. ICE cars to cut down on pollution.
This has nothing to do with Tesla being stubborn. They built their supercharger infrastructure with their own money (and before you go into govt. loans, tesla is the only car manufacturer to pay the govt. back in FULL). All Tesla is asking is for other/all car manufacturers to pay their fair...
Tom, Thanks for the in depth view of your
I-Pace and I am sorry to hear about your Grandmother and Dad, and I hope your Brother is able to enjoy his life.
You are correct, life is short, and as long as you have the kids covered, a roof over your head and food on the table, why not enjoy life...
That is what is so wonderful about America, we are a free country and allowed to have our own opinions, whether we let facts or alternative facts get in the way of our opinions. The information I posted, especially on customer satisfaction and where engineers and aerospace engineers want to...
Who pulled this stunt first? Who in real life does 0-120-0 on the street, or on the track, unless you are a professional racer? Musk is only trying to show that the Model S just might be able to do a better time.
As for quality, Tesla was not ranked #1 in Customer satisfaction, with Porsche...
I hope the 4S will have the 93KwH battery as the 80 KwH in the Taycan would be a non starter. Definitely not enough range even as a city car. I hope they give battery options, otherwise I wait a year or 2, take the HUGE depreciation on the Turbo and buy one for about $100k.
Good response. Very disappointed based on their Turbo and Turbo S pricing. I will be watching closely when they announce that the 4S is open to configure. I did get a call from my salesperson last night and he was also surprised by the pricing and does not know when Porsche will open up 4S...
I agree as well, still interested in the Taycan as I am a big Porsche fan BUT, they are clearly pricing this car to protect their ICE cars anD, more important is the disappointment of their Battery vs Range. If 279 is the European cycle than the Taycan will get less than 200 miles per charge...
In the US, the spread between the 911 4S and the Turbo is $50k. Hopefully, this same spread will apply to the Taycan putting the Taycan 4S at around $100k to start before options.
