for me personaly american made is a "bonus" not a requirement - but honestly I was buyng the most forward looking technology…vs. what was out there from any other company - and it still is in many ways…
these days you see Model 3's and Model Y's all over the place - and I would take any of...
yeah where/when the Porsche EVSE's work for you there is little reason to "swap" … and I realize (and acknoledge) that they work fine in some situations…
using the included/free EVSE that came with the car - totally get it…
spending incremental $$$ on a Porsche EVSE - that's where it goes off...
I have no doubt they have mules running around
I doubt:
they are anywhere close to production
able to go 250 mph (as promised)
able to go 600+ miles of range (as promised)
it probably accelerates in 1.9 seconds - so I'll spot them that
is still priced as it was promised
wake me up when...
Tesla Roadster - best joke I've heard all week!!
you win the internet with the assumption/assertion that the Tesla Roadster was not a scam and will actually exist as a product
OMG - sooooo funny. :CWL:
Tesla doesn't even list it on their website anymore…
crossed communications
north american vs european and other regions
in north america there is no 22 kw AC charging - there is 19.2 kw with single phase 240 volts at 80 amps on a 100 amp breaker
3 phase AC EVSE is not a thing in the north american j-1772 charging standard or NACS connector -...
1) 9.6 kW charging speed (240V @ 40 amps) is the mathematical limit for _ANY_ and _ALL_ NEMA 14-50/6-50 chargers - given a given circuit breaker/electrical circuit there is no such thing as a "faster" charger - the charging limit is dictated by the capacity of the charging circuit, and the...
Porsche = the Sony of the automotive world?
hmmmm - as i read this article -not a complete fit - but a lot of near misses in terms of what's happening with EV's and the lack of engagement on software…

Team,
there are multiple posting offers to sell a Porsche Mobile Charger unit (PMC, PMC+, PMCC, PUC) - these are variations on the same wonky and troublesome North American Porsche EVSE - normally pricing ranges from $400-$900 asking price
there are several red flags for _ANY_ of these sales…...
it’s listed on the standard equipment with the car - the next dealer/buyer may want it with the car - Porsches replacement prices are ridiculous
and there are better mobile chargers vs the Porsche monstrosity...
probably…
but in my defense - I'm bored, at sea, day 2 of 3 sea days returning to our home port to get off my lovely cruise to head home before XMAS
but I'm abusing ship's internet and had nothing else to do…
it's an internet forum and the forum "ignore" option is powerful!!

I had to argue with an insurance company that it was the cost of repairing my car back to factory spec when my PCCB 911 brakes were damaged in an accident that was the other driver's fault and I demanded PCCB OEM replacement parts…they were super duper unhappy with that prospect and fought hard...
my honest opinion is that if this is your concern PCCB's are not the right product for you
because the even money bet is that if it comes to pass you have to replace a Taycan PCCB rotors - there will be NO alternative other than to give Porsche the money for the replacement OEM part (best case...
I do not take my PCCB vehicles to shops that are sloppy and unwilling to accept financial responsibility for damage to the rotors when working with the vehicle's wheels - this is another reason to avoid PCCB's and you're right…but PCCB's are so unique and bespoke it's an operating consideration...
the only link I've seen for non OEM refurbishment or replacement is in this thread - the only other ceramic replacment low cost alternatives Ive' seen over the years was alternative PCCB non-OEM brakes and hte most common one has now gone out of business…surface transform were effective OEM...
read post #9, #15 and #43 of this thread…and then get back to me and tell me your concern about PCCB rotor replacement again

or search for any PCCB posts about Taycan and PCCB brakes by @f1eng (a former F1 racing...
it's highly highly unlikely (unless you are extensively tracking) that you'll wear the PCCB's enough to need to replace the rotors…the Taycan does not have the energy capacity to run long enough or hard enough to wear a set of PCCB brakes - even when tracking it - in fact the Taycan is so...
