That is good progress. Now you need to buy some programmable sensors that your reader can programme and then just copy the four sensors in your J1.2 wheels, corner by corner.
I did that process for my non OEM winter wheels and have been happy since then. If you have a large tyre shop that sells...
That has nothing to do with EV’s! That is a more fundamental problem for the UK car industry.
Look at Aston Martin. They build some lovely cars, but have only made a profit a very small number of years in their over 100 year history. Can’t blame the government for that
Ans I guess that the 22%...
This advice was actually stated by Ionity in their video already during 2021 0r -22. The problem seem to be the weight of the plug and cable so that the communication connection does not work properly. Once the communication process is finished the charging works fine.
I do not have detailed insight into the UK grid and its operations, but several sources have debunked the notion that the Grid would not cope. It state that there is enough energy available. The issue as pointed out that there is a problem to get the energy to where different interests want to...
Wasn’t there a tear down by Munro and some other videos that showed an enormous complicated pipework under center front. And that was only protected with some plastic cover. If a small stone can give a 3mm+ dent in Porsche soft steel protection for the battery, what does the thin plastic film in...
Does anybody know the technology that the J1.2 uses for TPMS. Could they like Tesla have changed to Bluetooth? Or is it still the same but different settings?
I use the same as for my windows at home.
Mostly distilled water with a little vinegar and a few drops of washing up liquid. Spray that onto a very soft microfiber cloth and wipe over. I got the same advice for our glasses from the local optician.
I was thinking that Porsche may use the second connection in the car for their data purposes. Even with a failed LTE module and no data I still had the SOS system working!
If your use case is with so much home charging, it will be no issue at all. I only compared it to the i4, but I understand now that i4 has a different battery and charging curve to i5.
I have tried to compare long trip plans in ABRP and Taycan is certainly one of the best optimised cars for...
I guess we do not know if Porsche collects a lot of data from the cars or not. I suspect they do since one of the latest recalls is some software to monitor the battery for run away events. I do not expect they can require the owners to need to subscribe to Connect for them to get the data?
I...
I have also been looking at one of these. Great alternative to a Taycan in my mind. Test drove one the other week and at present in negotiation with a dealer. Great car and great technology with quite a few good deals going now. One of the best driving cars I have tested after the Taycan. My...
Maybe but isn’t much of what Metcalfe describes about technology, driven by a completely different generation and market?
If I recall correctly the overall market is 90 million cars per year, when China has a demand for 30 Million and growing. I feel that the Chinese car are developed with a...
When my heaters failed there was no heat coming out from the vents at all and the car fogged up in cold wet weather.
I am on my 4th heater at the moment. Number one and two failed completely and no 3 was replaced by a recall InApril/May.
I hope I do not need another one again.
I agree with you about the preheating, both remotely and navigating to a charger. I will miss those features.
None of the others are of any use to me. And I do not have the Porsche Tracking subscription. I use an Apple AirTag hidden in the car instead.
I get all the other information and...
What was missing for you when you had the outage?
I frequently have issues connecting with the car that can last a few days. I hardly ever use the navigation since it is so out of date with traffic info etc. The navigation has also numerous times taken me down roads that re not passable or...
I am also strongly questioning the value of Porsche Connect, and unfortunately my subscription just recently auto renewed.
I know it will list the chargers that can be available. But that is not reliable in my car. Often incorrect
It will also preheat when chargers are found for a long trip...
