Zero concern. Charging will only start when the cable is securely in place. And the level of water resistance electric cars have is very high. There can't be even the slightest chance of danger in any normal weather conditions, so you can charge in a monsoon and drive in a flood if necessary...
What? Does not match my experience at all. I spent a long time sitting in Taycan's with both roof types at Frankfurt and the car with the glass roof has approximately 2-3cm more headspace than the metal roof (in the area which the glass covers, and it covers a lot).
Long distance EV driving, at this day and age, will require having time, patience and a pioneer spirit. But I kind of look forward to that. People are simply too BUSY these days, perhaps an EV can help relax a bit as you have to adopt that mindset :)
Which is approximately 1 % of the weight of the car. Whatever the driver/passengers weigh and possible other cargo makes for an expected larger variance in total weight than the weight of the glass roof.
I don't imagine this being a concern to almost anyone. If you're tracking with it all the...
From where did you get the 18.2 ft figure? That is either erroneus or a different way of measuring it. I have an older A7 model, and based on what I could find, the turning circle is 11.9 metres which is 39 ft. For the 2020 model you mentioned the figure I found is 36.4 ft.
Or is the "turning...
Didn't choose any of these. Mainly because my experience with this level of cars is highly limited and I'm sure that I will be impressed with it regardless of these features. I rather spent on other type of options.
The only one I've later wondered about is the RWS which many here seem to like...
Battery size doesn't affect this, it's the size of the rear engine which is smaller in 4S, that allows for a little bit of extra space. Apparently also the subwoofers in the better audio systems affect the space a little bit. I haven't seen info on where the extra space is in practise and how...
This is incorrect. Remember the 0,79€ pricing only applies to cars with no contract. For example Tesla's. BMW, VW group, Mercedes etc have special contract pricing. Audi had published their pricing which is 0,33€ / kwh (+18€ monthly fee). We'll see what the Porsche pricing is but I'd expect...
I agree but the best thing is that with a Taycan you can choose between the 3 different settings. Other EV's do not have the free coast option at all. With Taycan you have the smart adaptive, mild regen and totally off. I'm pretty sure one of the settings will work for any driver.
That is very interesting. As I'm not experienced with EV's, I have no idea how the charging stations generally are over here in Finland. I know of them, and know there is a lot of them, but no experience in use or parking. I certainly hope they generally work out better than the one you had...
This is one of the most impressive things about Taycan's tech. The break regeneration is stronger than with any other EV. The car should have really good efficiency in city driving when a lot of breaking is required.
Fully agree. Unless it's a fix to a critical problem, I'd rather wait that others test new updates first and not be the one struggling with new issues.
Based on what I've read Taycan might have pretty much the most advanced regen strategy available now. It has the adaptive regen mode which does break hard if it detects objects in front. To me this makes more sense than just breaking all the time for no reason.
Additionally it has the mild...
Guys... really? EV's are quite safe in such situations. This includes the Taycan. All the key electrical parts are well protected from water. If you plan on driving it on the ocean floor, then perhaps not, but any earthly water exposure shouldn't be a safety risk.
If the car is damaged and...
