I'm still solid for a February delivery. That is the coldest winter month here in Finland on average. Interesting to see how it behaves in -30C :D and for "enjoying it", can't really push it too much on snow & ice.
But when spring comes... That'll be something.
I'm leaning to believe that the depreciation will not be anything unusual for the first 3 years at least. One key issue that is not talked about enough is that with the amount of electric cars coming out from basically all manufacturers in 2020-2021 it is quite likely that the battery...
Not cancelling. The AMCI actual driving test is according to what I'd expect. I believe the EPA test is pretty useless. Of course if you drive it hard, you'll get lower range, even lower than EPA. But the AMCI test wasn't especially slow driving, it included driving over the speed limit on a...
It is interesting how the shade of color can make such a difference. I don't usually like blue cars, but fell in love with the gentian blue. On the other hand, I dislike the frozen blue more than any other color choice available.
I definitely appreciate this. The Taycan will be my family's main car and my first child will be born this month. So it not being safe would be a problem to say the least. We do have a second car also but the Taycan does fit our small family so I expect it to be used for such purposes as well.
Interesting and important discussion! If it is easy to change this "charge until x%" behaviour from the settings, I will be following the recommendations for max longevity. I mean, it's not needed for normal work commute and city driving to have more than 80% charge ever. Then charge to the max...
They are simply being *super* conservative with the instructions as this is their first all electric car. I'm personally fairly confident charging often to "100%" won't cause any significant degradation due to the large buffer.
I certainly will. The whole point of the large margin is that owners don't need to worry about optimizing the battery life too much by thinking constantly about how to charge. It'll last long anyways.
Having more light is one thing, but it does look quite impressive from the inside. As it is a very large glass roof. To me the deciding factor was the headroom though. The car has multiple centimeters more vertical space with the glass roof.
For me, as a tall person, this makes a difference. It...
Taking into account that everything I said is sourced from official Porsche materials, it is quite concerning if a dealer is saying something else instead. That is a big issue as it could cause someone to buy something with false information. But I guess that is solid grounds to cancel without...
What TAYC4N is saying is incorrect. The 4S does not have nearly the same power as the Turbo, regardless of what battery you choose for it. Keep in mind all of the models have 2 different power figures, one is the general power you have at your command at any time, and the other is the overboost...
I don't mind waiting really but I think the key takeaway here is that a factory running at lower capacity doesn't mean cars are not coming out at all. Only some portion of the orders are affected.
I think over here the number of cars ordered so far is less than 100 which means perhaps not many...
Just a note that I discussed these delays with my dealer in Finland and he said there is no sign, at least currently, that my 4S will be delayed. February delivery still stands. But we'll see.
This is my assumption currently based on how older houses generally are over here. I don't really know yet (hasn't been of interest or relevant before). Next week an electrician is coming to check things out for an offer to install a charging station. Then I'll know for sure :)
Would be a...
To me it's rather fine to first get experience on using the car and then based on that I can decide if I want to buy the upgrade later. Not sure if I'll need it at all, as at home I won't be able to charge faster than 11kw anyway. So it really comes down to how often I need the 22kw charging...
As I have no experience with electric cars yet, this is for me all speculation in terms of what will be problematic and what won't. Also the development of the local charging network will have a major effect on this.
But, my view at the moment is that this 11kw/22kw AC issue is a minor...
I received word from the dealer that the delivery of my 4S should be in February. It was said more like "should" than "will". My dealer had the general opinion that everyones delivery times are more or less estimates and nothing is for certain. Just from his experience with first launches of...
