Taycan is still the best handling and best chassis and suspension of any BEV now or in the very near future. Maybe that changes in 3+ years. Maybe it doesn’t until we see the $300k level of supercars go Bev.
When Lucid or Mercedes or BMW builds a sedan that is as enjoyable to drive as a...
Is it time to update the Roadwarrior threads with new recommendations @daveo4EV ? What are folks favorite alternative EVSE these days ? Mustart’s?
The Tesla one’s appear perpetually sold out.
Ironically, I’ve literally never used Porsche’s evse. EA and charging at work, and teslatap. I...
well if there’s no budget, get everything you could possibly want. For $134k car, I firmly believer in the “better to have it and not need it than later want it but not have it“ on a nearly $150k purchase I plan to keep for years. All to save … $1k ? $5k ?
if you post a build code, or want...
Take a look at a cayman gts 4.0 too
gt4 is great. 12k miles on mine. Gts 4.0 is maybe even better on public streets. For track work, gt4 is hard to beat at its price point. A gt3 will run a lot more money, and while faster, it’s … differently fun as opposed to more fun.
cayman platform is...
I’ve driven for …. a long time. Never had a problem with crime or fire. Had to replace quite a few windshields in my time that nobly sacrificed themselves for my face. Average California highway speed is over 70. Debris doesn’t need to be very big at those speeds.
and then there was the...
This isn’t any different from driving an ice car with locked doors.
and you should always drive with locked doors for crash safety. Crime is far down the list of problems. You really don’t want the doors popping open in an accident. Ya know. Either your arms flailing outside the vehicle, or...
I wonder how much of this is early adopter teething pains. I’ve had my 2022 for 6 months, and it’s been fantastic. No service required yet. The 911 would have been in the shop at least once by now. Usually tire issues. And of course the 911 maintenance schedule is 2x the frequency
Every...
I use 150kw chargers all the time. Takes about 20 minutes to charge 30->80 (bigger pack), or approximately 50Kw. If you have access to them, and most folks don’t because EA is generally terrible everywhere else, it’s a huge quality of life upgrade for folks without at home charging
Mostly just “me too” on a skinnier 4S spec. Here’s what I made. If you can give up the Olea, I’d definitely recommend the battery upgrade

If you want to stick with a highly optioned base, drop Burmeister and most of the performance and vanity...
the motors can be improved, Lucid has lighter and more powerful ones, the batteries can still be incrementally improved, the aero and weight improved, efficiency per mile improved, an extra motor to compete with the model S, and even following Tesla with structural battery packs which would be a...
The official EPA range of the turbo S was 200mi. I get over 230mi driving GTA style. The official range is a joke. Adding 15-20 miles would be a lot more accurate without changing anything
You want to find a DC 150kw or faster charger. Then you’ll fill up to 85% in about 30 minutes. I get about 230mi to a charge, and going really hard burns that about 20% faster.
There are ElectrifyAmerica stations in VA, and probably other DC charging options.
I can’t believe anyone hasn’t already said I’d rather they just make it weigh 1000# less.
1000hp is pretty pointless if you’re traction limited. 770hp in a car that weighs as much as a Model 3 would be much much faster
the Turbo S will be hybridized. It’s already pdk only, awd with turbos, and 3700#. Hybrid will just make it better, and much faster. It ought to get within shooting distance of a Ferrari 296 GTB, so probably just shy of 800hp
